The Queue: Why do they keep letting the Captain go on ridiculously dangerous missions?

So I like Star Trek as a whole, and I grew up with the syndicated re-runs of the original series (child of the 70’s, yes, I am as ancient as Methuselah) and so, for me, Strange New Worlds is the first new Star Trek show to actually feature elements of the franchise that I recognize. I mean, Spock’s there! It’s not Leonard Nimoy, but sadly, he isn’t with us anymore.
So far I like the show quite a bit. Anson Mount is fantastic as Captain Pike, Rebecca Romjin does fantastic work as Una, I pretty much like all of the cast I’ve seen so far and that switcheroo with Lieutenant Kirk was pretty dang amusing. But I am still forced to admit that TNG had a point and that Captains of the TOS era keep exposing themselves to ridiculous amounts of danger. Pike just beams himself down into a tense, about to become a war meeting like it ain’t no thang and man, even with the whole I know my future thing it’s pretty nuts.
And man, Anson Mount is hot.

Look, it made me laugh. I’m sure it is in reference to an earlier comment but it was the first one I saw when I opened the Queue and I heard it in a stentorian 50’s TV announcer voice and I laughed, so there you go.
Also the video with the two pit bulls was really very cute and while it was sad to see the puppy with her jaw wired shut I’m glad things worked out for her.
Which one of you broke WoW?
I am fairly certain it wasn’t me because if I couldn’t manage it for that several year period when I was trying to get my shoulders it sure isn’t gonna happen now.

Based on Boven and other commenters I’d say yes, it seems they did.
Kind of hoping we get an official answer on whether or not there will be additional catchup gear mechanisms in 9.2.5 or Season 4. I’m starting to push my many neglected alts to 60 and I don’t want to dump a bunch of resources into gearing them up now if there will be an easier way to do so in the next patch.
It feels like there should be because dungeons and raids are getting the standard 26 ilevel bump in Season 4, but I haven’t seen anything thus far in terms of catchup gear or world content.
Sadly most of the information I’ve seen is about a month or so out of date, going back to April, and I can’t tell you anything you probably don’t already know. It does feel like they’re working to reduce RNG and streamline things like Soulbinds and Renown, but I don’t think there are any major changes to the current catch up mechanisms in the works.
The default browser in Windows 11 is ridiculous. If you don’t set it the easy way the first time Chrome (or any other browser) asks, you have to do it for each individual internet link type, or at least that how it was a couple of months ago when I threw it on a laptop to familiarize myself with it prior to determining whether or not to roll it out. Completely unacceptable.

Mine will be a Leatherworker/Skinner.
Oh, right, because they wear mail. That makes sense.
I’m not gonna roll one because I’m holding out for Dracthyr Warriors.
