The Queue: Mond-boo
Surprise! The mystery guest writer is just me — fooled you right?
As always the counterpart to Friday’s yays is Monday’s boos. This time of year they just happen to be a little spookier.
While I call someone about this ghost that keeps hanging around, it’s time for — The Queue!
Q4TQ Is it worth crafting that torghast Legendary for the extra phantasma?
Nah.
It’s never been that useful in my opinion. You’re giving up some major class power for the chance of getting some extra Anima Powers from a broker. The odds are that if you’re killing everything in the run as you’re climbing the tower you’ll be getting a good selection of things to power up with.
Even for getting closer to the collect X Phantasma achievements, there are better ways. My friend got their 250k Phantasma achievement by having some Anima powers that increased the amount of Phantasma you looted from things, during a week that there was the Tower Torment that spawned a blob that stole a portion of your Phantasma. Every time they killed that blob they increased how much Phantasma they had. It took twenty minutes, but it eventually got pretty exponential where the blob would steal tens of thousands of Phantasma, and drop twice that much.
Okay.. September I got 646,853 gold from the mission table and weekly anima mission, plus a few world quests, and 1,093.271 gold from callings caches and paragon boxes, for a total of 1,740,124 gold.
Kinda makes a good case for continuing to do callings til Dragonflight, if I’m honest, but I want the time for other things
But how many Pet Charms did you get?!
They’ve been pretty great for making gold this time around. I am going to miss the Mission table systems for passive gold income in Dragonflight. I’m not lamenting it too hard though, since Mission Tables are a long way out from their best versions in Warlords of Draenor and Legion. I miss the pile of followers I had in my Garrison. I still go back sometimes to watch them walk around.
Q4tQ – Dragon Riding will have a ‘ride along’ option for people who have difficulty with the new mechanics – what other accessibility options do you think are needed in Wow?
I don’t have the answer here, but there could be some accessibility options added to raiding. We were fighting the Prototype Pantheon last night with the two Fated Affixes, and between the extra adds from that and the fact that there are four different bosses to fight at the end, there was a pile of things all happening together in a small area. It was a little hard to visually parse. So something that could help reduce that clutter would be great!
On the flip side, I know that being able to see all of those things can be important for doing mechanics or avoiding standing on raiders or targets so I don’t know what that’d look like. Not seeing your other raiders is in the same boat, if someone is going to explode with a living bomb soon, I need to be able to see them!
Wrathion, I’m so tired of having to re-earn that dude’s trust for a cloak over and over again! Oh wait, I’m being told that he’s definitely in it?
At this point, I think I’m over Milhouse Manastorm. He’s had his moments, and I don’t think that there’s anywhere else for him to go that will be as funny as seeing him get launched by the worm in the Stonecore for the first time. I think it’s time to give him and his wife a rest for a while so that they can come back with some new material!
@Cory Since Mitch didn’t use it – Question for the Queue – What is your favorite spell in a Single Player game, a MMO, and a TTRPG?
Hmmm, I think for a single-player game I’m going to stretch the definition of spell here a little and go with the Telekinesis from Control. It was infinitely satisfying to launch things at the helpless goons that infested the floors of the Oldest House. Especially fire extinguishers! Once you could start floating around and throwing things at the same time fuggedabout it!
For MMO’s I think that it still goes to Demon Hunter eye lasers. I don’t know if anything feels as viscerally satisfying as the little flip back leading into the giant blast of fel energy obliterating your enemies. Heroic Leap is pretty great too, especially if you talent into the mass grip it’s getting in Dragonflight!
In a tabletop game, I challenge you to find a better spell than Fireball. Room goes boom, you roll a ton of dice, it’s the OG for a reason. Chain lightning might be good too, but it’s maybe a little too clean for me. I want there to be devastation and destruction left in my wake!
Today’s Anna Earworm™: The World is not Enough
I’ve been sitting on this Earworm™ twofer for a while, I’m so glad I got to do a back-to-back Queue so I could use it! Have a great week everyone, don’t forget to leave Anna lots of spooky questions for tomorrow!
