How do you think the new Dragonflight profession system is working out?
I’m of two minds about the current profession system in Dragonflight. On the one hand, I find it somewhat confusing, with a lot of options and specializations that almost feel like it’s another talent system. In a game that just introduced a new talent system that I’m still getting used to, the idea of having to also learn the talent system for my Blacksmithing is a bit odd for me.
But on the other hand, the system has also allowed me to gear my alts much more easily. I have actually been making a fair amount of use of the profession system this time — probably the first time I’ve bothered since the end of Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor.
There are of course drawbacks. It doesn’t feel like I can get enough ore to keep Blacksmithing leveled and I’m curious how other professions like Engineering are faring in that regard. Is Skinning working out better for Leatherworkers? Have professions like Jewelcrafting and Inscription been benefiting as well? I have a fair few characters to get to 70 yet, so I’ll be experiencing what they get up to once I get them leveled — and strangely, since I haven’t touched Inscription in a long time now, I’m actually looking forward to seeing how it feels to level it.
But I won’t pretend that I always feel like I understand the system. So what about y’all? Are you liking professions in Dragonflight? Do you feel like you know how best to proceed with them?
