When is the Diablo 2: Resurrected patch 2.6 release date? February 16!

Flames behind the text Diablo II Resurrected

It’s almost time for the next patch, because Diablo 2: Resurrected patch 2.6 will go live on February 16. We’ve seen patch 2.6 on the Diablo 2: Resurrected PTR has go, so we’ve already had a chance to check out the eight new Rune Words in the patch.

While we’re waiting for the patch to go live, let’s check out what’s coming to Diablo 2: Resurrected in patch 2.6. Here are the major features in patch 2.6:

  • New Rune Words. The most exciting thing in patch 2.6 will be the eight new Rune Words that can be used for both Ladder and offline single-player games.
  • Season 3 Ladder will go live soon after the patch goes live.. The Ladder season will have the different ladder modes that came with patch 2.4, including the Classic Ladder, Hardcore Classic Ladder, Expansion Ladder, and Hardcore Expansion Ladder.
  • Class changes. We can expect to see some class balance adjustments as we did in patch 2.4 in which every class received some sort of adjustment to a majority of their abilities and skills.

Terror Zones, which were introduced in patch 2.5, might receive some adjustments in preparation for the new Ladder season. Sundering Charms, which were also introduced in patch 2.5, might receive some slight tweaking, especially with the new Rune Words that are being added. As always, there will be some gameplay and/or quality of life fixes as well as console or PC-specific fixes. In patch 2.5, we had some localization and modding fixes. We’ll probably see some of that again in patch 2.6.

Anything that can keep the game fresh and replayable is always welcomed. Watch this space, because we’ll update once the patch is live with final patch notes.
