The Queue: Bungers, Snax, Games

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I originally wrote “Big Sweaty Guy” as the title here because I couldn’t think of anything to (very loosely) continue the trend but then I found my good friends, the Bungers!

So please enjoy the Bungers bunging while we have ourselves a Queue.

KALCHEUS POSITS THAT WE MIGHT SEE OLD ZONES:

Thought: what if when the Bronze Dragonflight storyline shows up in DF we get an updated version of an old zone to play around in — the Timeless Isle. The architecture and layout would be the same, but the creatures, etc., would be different. Oh, and flying would work on there finally.

I’ve been wanting to see more of the old zones for a long time, and Blizz has given us a few chances, but I really, really wish that it were a bigger priority to send us out into the actual WORLD of Warcraft. Especially if that means flying.

MUSEDMOOSE WANTS TO TALK ABOUT POST-LAUNCH CHANGES:

Q4tQ: what’s a feature that was added after a game’s release that you’re really glad for? Any game is fine.

For me, I’m very happy right now that they added an option in Persona 4 Golden to save in the middle of a dungeon, otherwise I’d be stuck going through I don’t even know how many more floors. Worth it to rescue my favorite character, but still, I need to sleep soon.

Dang, it’s kind of hard because I feel like the features you’re describing are also the types of features you become accustomed to and easily forget, “Oh yeah, this wasn’t always a thing.”

I feel like Returnal originally did something like what you’ve described, but I don’t have first-hand experience there.

No Man’s Sky is kind of my go-to for “games that got way better post-launch” and they did so by embracing the community element of a game that was initially meant as a solo, quiet exploration through the vast emptiness of space. They also added third-person mode which is cool, too, but like… all the other stuff changed the game’s overall focus for the better.

I’d also be remiss if I didn’t point out that I am, generally, really happy when WoW implements an addon’s features. Knowing how much threat you caused used to require an addon. Markers weren’t always a thing (I remember our Warlocks being VERY happy about this in Molten Core for Banish targets, which also needed an addon back then). Dragonflight’s interface overhaul — especially quick key binding — is fantastic and something you used to need an addon for.

MISTAH JAY NOTICED OUR CHARACTERS READ MAPS A LITTLE ODDLY:

Q4tQ: Why can’t we read maps correctly?

Who needs to READ a map? As long as you see the general shapes and know where your smaller shape is, you’re probably fine :)

SHUANNAREBORN WANTS TO SHOW A LITTLE SKIN:

I’ve searched in vain through Wowhead, so QftQ: What’s the skimpy situation with transmog from the last three x-pacs (the one’s I’ve missed)? Is it demure cover up all the way? Anything you might recommend :) ?

(With skimpy I mean anything from scandalous to modest piece of skin showing.)

I’m including this more because I’d love to see suggestions from the rest of y’all. I don’t have specific recommendations, but my “vibe check” feeling is that armor has gotten more practical over time. Although… the new Orc Heritage Armor has, like, one nipple spike as protection, so YMMV.

That’s us for today! Please leave more questions for tomorrow’s writer and I’ll see ya when I see ya!
