Are the WoW servers up? Yes! Dragonflight Season 2 and the new Aberrus raid are now live

It’s an exciting day for World of Warcraft players as Dragonflight Season 2 kicks off and the new raid Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible, launches in Normal, Heroic, Mythic, and LFR (wing 1) difficulties after maintenance. After a shorter maintenance than originally expected, the WoW servers are up!

Ready to jump in? Let’s talk about what’s coming with Season 2.

The Aberrus raid is the highlight of Season 2, and it will be available on all difficulties immediately, a first for World of Warcraft raiding. The nine-boss raid is a long-hidden laboratory where Neltharion, Aspect of Black Dragonflight, conducted hideous experiments while succumbing to the corruption of the Old Gods. If you’re looking to solely run this tier on LFR, however, you’ll need to wait a little longer: LFR wing 1 is live now, but additional LFR raid wings will open on a staggered schedule, with a new wing every two weeks.

If you’re interested in small-scale content, Season 2 brings new Mythic affixes and a new rotation of Mythic+ dungeons to conquer. Here’s the dungeon rotation for Season 2:

• Neltharion’s Lair

There are also new achievements and rewards:

Season 2 also includes new PVP rewards, increased item level gear, new titles to achieve for arena and Rated Solo Shuffle players, new Alliance and Horde-themed snail mounts, and additional appearances. And there’s open world PVE content, too. Fyrakk Assaults will give players new challenges as the fiery Primal Incarnate wreaks havoc across the Dragon Isles. Chapters 4 and 5 of the patch 10.1, Embers of Neltharion, campaign, will be unlocked, giving players a chance to experience more of the expansion’s broader narrative while earning a new dragonriding mount, the Winding Slitherdrake.
