How to get your first Rune in WoW Classic Season of Discovery
World of Warcraft Classic‘s newest season, the Season of Discovery, is here! While the Season of Discovery has plenty of changes to explore, everyone is here for the new Rune Engraving system that opens up exciting possibilities for your character’s build. But collecting those Runes is tricky part, so we’re here to help you get started with a walkthrough for collecting your very first Rune in Season of Discovery.
Fortunately, you’ll get your first Rune pretty early — at level 2 — from your class trainer. Once you gain your first level, return to your starting area’s camp and find your trainer. (You should have a breadcrumb quest to lead you there.) They will assign you a unique quest based on your race/class combo. Generally speaking, the quest involves three steps:
- Finding a lost rune item.
- Learn the rune’s power — this can involve using a specific skill, taking a certain type of damage, or even meditating on it at a special location in-world.
- Once you’ve completed the criteria for your race/class, turn in the quest at your class trainer to receive your first Rune to engrave and a piece of gear to engrave it on (along with 50 rep for your racial faction).
Go through the list below to find your starting Rune (by class) and the quest to earn it (by race). Here’s how to get your very first Rune in Season of Discovery.
