What is on your holiday gaming wish list this year?

Even if you don’t practice the Christian religion, the yule period is a frequent time for gift exchanges, from friends, family, and sometimes even from yourself to yourself.  While Greatfather Winter will be putting presents under the Winter Veil tree in a few days time, it’s likely you will also be giving and receiving gifts in the real world too.

Most gamers probably hope to get something gaming related for the holiday season. Ranging from a new console or gaming PC, gaming peripherals, or a stack of games, to t-shirts or other gaming merchandise. Gaming as an industry is as large a media entity as movies or television these days, so unsurprisingly there are a ton of different franchises with tie in merchandise. Whether it be Pokemon cards, or a Diablo PopCap, or a World of Warcraft boardgame. Maybe you have a Tracer statuette on your wish list, or a series of art prints or books.

Maybe your holiday wish isn’t for something tangible, maybe you just want some time off to game uninterrupted? Or maybe some time with a lived one to play some co-operative play when they rarely have time.

Personally, I just want some time to sit down and play some of my indie game backlog without having any responsibility for a few days. And I have a couple of Warcraft dragon plushies to put under the tree that my mother won’t understand what they are when I unwrap them. I would wrap the Diablo cookbook or the box of Diablo Tarot cards, but I think that would be a bit much, a couple of Exit the Game games will round out my bundle. My other half is getting some Lego Star Wars t-shirts and a couple more of the Exit games.

What is on your holiday gaming gift wish list? What do you plan to get for a special gamer in your life? Is there anything that you are getting yourself?
