The Queue: That can’t be comfortable

When we killed Mythic Igira for the first time last night, she fell over in a most undignified position. Honestly, I’m surprised that she was bootable at all! Her feet were the only things sticking out on our side of the fence…

While I go and wash my loot off extra well, it’s time for — The Queue!

25 YEARS AND TELWAR’S LIFE IS STILL TRYIN’ TO GET UP THAT GREAT BIG HILL OF HOPE

Late QftQ: Is LFR better now than it had been previously?
I haven’t had an awful experience with it all season, even when I’ve been running it for the Str 2h legendary. Previous experiences this expansion were kind of meh at best, so did they balance it better, is it because more people are running it due to the legendary, or am I high?

I think that it is! While the fights are getting more complicated, I think that it’s easier for players to go in with a little more gear, and with LFR damage numbers the extra little bit of gear can make a big difference in a boss dying or not. As long as you can’t just fall off of the platform via a knockback it should be easier than ever for the healers to keep up the raid through bad choices.

Now gear, on the other hand, I don’t think the return to a group loot need/greed situation was a good idea. If I run LFR I’m running to try and get transmog. It was one thing to be given a piece of loot through personal loot and just hang onto it, but rolling need against something since that’s the only way to have a chance of winning it wouldn’t be cool — if the system even let me! Which ends up disincentivizing me to go and run it at all. I’m sure I’m not the only higher end player running for that reason either, so now fewer experienced people can help shepherd groups through the content.

I REALIZED QUICKLY WHEN I KNEW I SHOULD THAT THE WORLD WAS MADE UP OF THIS BROTHERHOOD OF JALAMENOS THE BLUE BARON

For 10 million dollars would you never listen to Beyonce again?

So there’s always a problem with these kind of questions. For 10 million dollars I would never listen to my favorite band again, let alone someone who isn’t in my usual rotation. Ten million dollars, used wisely, basically can keep me set for the rest of my life and I would never have to work again. Even $100,000 would be a massive boon to my life, and thus I could stand to not hear one band again for the rest of that life.

If these questions were truly interesting they’d have to make the numbers of payouts way smaller. Only a thousand dollars to never listen to my favorite musician again would be a much tougher question. I think I wouldn’t take the money then, but there’s gotta be a number in between one thousand and one hundred thousand where that changes. Is it enough for a nice vacation? A new car? A nice new car?

Someone put up some money and let’s find out!

AND SO I WAKE IN THE MORNING AND I STEP OUTSIDE AND I TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND I GET MUSEDMOOSE

Q4tQ: how long does it take you to realize you don’t want to play a game?
Asking because I tried a new game today and I bailed after nine minutes because the writing in the intro section was so bad. >_< I was hoping it’d be all right when I got to the actual gameplay, but said gameplay was “we’re throwing you into a dangerous situation with all your abilities and not explaining how anything works, good luck” so I was done.

That just sounds like real life! Well, minus all of the abilities part.

Generally, I’ll figure it out pretty quickly if I don’t want to keep going. Either I’ll make the conscious decision after one play session, or more likely I just won’t play it again until, eventually, I’ll uninstall the game and free up the space again. I don’t know that I’ve ever turned something off that quickly though. Thanks to things like GamesPass on Xbox though it is a lot easier to make that decision. No longer are you stuck with having just dropped $60 bucks on a game only to find out that it was kinda crap.

AND I SCREAM FROM THE TOP OF MY LUNGS ROXXII THE STORM RIDER

Q4TQ: It used to be fairly recommended that if you want one of the armor crafting professions you should try to pick a class that can use said armor type. But with the DF profession dynamics do you think this is as necessary to do anymore?

As long as The War Within continues to allow us to make crafting orders for Bind on Pickup items I think it’s safe to say that you don’t absolutely need to have your Blacksmith be a Plate wearer.

After the initial shininess of the new crafting system wore off I was pretty down on it. I didn’t like the variable quality of crafted things because anything that didn’t have a high quality felt like it wasn’t worth as much. I especially didn’t like that I was more likely to get a max-level quality thing from outside of my guild, as I would’ve preferred to keep my gold and skill-ups in-house as it were. Not as much as I really wanted a 5-star Elemental Lariat though.

Now though, as we’re in the back stretch of the expansion, it’s fine. I’m thoroughly whelmed. I think the benefits are back to outweighing any extra complication in getting crafting items upgraded with the various dragon-themed crests.

Only slightly though. Overall it’s still on thin ice, and I hope that The War Within iterates on the new Profession system rather than scrapping it all and going back to the drawing board with whatever is going to happen with Warbands.

OH MY GOD, DO I TRY I TRY ALL THE TIME IN THIS CARBAN

Here is a Cook for upcoming ideas, just curious on your thoughts!

So after the “World Soul Saga” I feel like lots of stories and characters will be sort of wrapped up. What would you guys think about a reset where all of our characters are no longer eligible for new content.. We start a fresh character and that starting zone is at our Warband, where we recover all of our gold, achievements, mounts, ect.. and discuss how this must have been where the “Champions of Azeroth” lived. We recover all our stuff and move forward.

Thoughts??

I don’t hate the idea, as long as I get everything back! I played in the change-over from Destiny to Destiny 2 and let me tell you, it wasn’t an awesome feeling when I lost my Gjallerhorn! Let alone all of the other nonsense that I’d collected from beating up bad guys on Mars.

This has always been the problem whenever anyone talks about World of Warcraft 2. There are almost 20 years of history that players wouldn’t be ready to just drop for the number 2 on something. Those are my emotional support raptor mounts that I haven’t actually ridden in 10 years… but if one of them goes missing I’m ready to burn the whole system down!

Don’t worry! I’ve bribed Bacardi this week with lots of chin scratches so he’s definitely ready to give you some great luck for your great vaults!

Today’s Anna Earworm™: What’s Up

Have an excellent week everyone! Hopefully, you’re all back into the full swing of things in 2024 and kicking butt! You can help Anna kick her Queue’s butt by asking her lots of questions for tomorrow.
