When does Diablo 3 Season 30 end?

Watchers, welcome to Diablo 3 Season 30: Lords of Hell. This season’s patch brought the permanent return of both the Altar of Rites and Visions of Enmity to the game, in addition to our first repeating theme: the Lords of Hell, which debuted in Season 25. But while the Altar and Visions will remain in perpetuity, the Lords of Hell and their powerful soul shards will leave at some point, which begs the question — when does Diablo 3 Season 30 end? Our estimate is that Diablo 3 Season 30 ends on Sunday, April 7, 2024.

The Diablo team provided details on future Seasons in its Season 29 preview post. Past Diablo 3 Season lengths have varied widely: Season 28 is the record holder for the longest run at 28 weeks and two days (about seven months), while Season 2’s two-month runtime seems like a blip. Now, in addition to recycling D3 seasonal themes, the seasons will rotate about every three months.

We’re guessing that rotation begins with the current season. Given that Season 30 started Friday, January 12, a 12-week (and two-day) runtime puts us right at April 7. Yes, three months could also mean 13 weeks; however, using a little over 12 weeks fits in roughly four seasons a year and better aligns with the Diablo 4 release schedule.

However, this is all an estimate. We won’t know for sure until we either have a PTR announcement or a Season end date announcement from Blizzard. Frankly, we don’t even know if additional PTRs are in the future for Diablo 3, as Patch 2.7.7 was supposedly the final balance patch for the title as it fully enters maintenance mode. We’ll learn more over the coming weeks of Season 30.

For now, enjoy the return of the Lords of Hell theme and its unqiue soul shards. Complete the season’s journey for the Blood Shard portrait frames and All Hallow’s Pennant. Race your way to the leaderboards with the help of the still-powerful Altar of Rites. You have until Sunday, April 7 to complete all this by our estimate. See you in Sanctuary!
