The Queue: This is what a real paladin looks like

This is my friend Glorbo, who got Fyr’alath in LFR immediately after Blizzard buffed the bad luck protection. (This image is a perfect representation of his in-game personality.) We love and hate Glorbo for his success, and since we’re talking about that dang axe later, here he is, in all of his weird glory.

GLOWING METEOR CARROT ASKED:

Worst zone to get stranded in with no hope of rescue? I think Blade’s Edge

I think the Maw is the obvious answer here, but I’m going to go off book and say Deadwind Pass. I mean, maybe you could build yourself a goth playhouse, or break into Karazhan, but this zone is very dismal. I think the dark, gloomy sky all the time would start to weigh on you. And the utter lack of inhabitants other than skeletons and spiders would slowly drive you crazy.

If you could get into Karazhan you could at least have dance parties with ghosts, and probably avoid the spiders. But ghosts aren’t always great company and the place has a minor demon infestation. Still, you might be able to make it work.

FELINAE ASKED:

I know you have still been playing D4 – what’s your top three things you enjoy about it? Patting the dogs is an acceptable answer.

I really love toying with builds. I don’t really use any of the recommended or meta builds, though I may look at them for ideas or to get started. Right now I’m running a Bone Spirit build, but I keep the Golem to double up on Bone Storm (BONE STOORRRRMMM!!!) damage, which is not recommended by anyone ever, but I like having necromantic minions. I also dropped Corpse Tendrils because I just don’t like Corpse Tendrils, but everyone everywhere says Necromancers need Corpse Tendrils. Playing around with paragon options and collecting the right gear to make things fit together is interesting, fun. It can turn into a grind eventually, but, I’ve found that I can jump in for relatively brief periods and out again, not touching the game for a week, that it stays fresh and fun.

Strongholds are some of my favorite content. I love the unique challenges and encounters, and the unique stories they all have. Unfortunately there are only a handful of them so you run out of things to do unfortunately quickly.

And honestly, the gameplay loop is just really satisfying. Go into a dungeon, MURDER EVERYTHING, collect loot, move on. It’s really fun to jump into content and slaughter demons by the dozen. And then more dozens. More dozens.

So overall, I just find the game fun. It’s joyful in its simplicity, where you cut a swath through the demonic hordes and then just keep doing it. Sometimes mindless slaughter is what you want in life.

RIPTIDEZ ASKED:

What’s your favorite side quest line (any game)?

Mass Effect: Citadel. If you disagree I will fight you.

By which I mean I will look at you with disappointment and sad eyes.

ENO ASKED:

Are you excited about any of the announced four new zones coming in The War Within? Azj-Kahet, Isle of Dorn, The Ringing Deeps, Hallowfall?

As a non-lore nerd, I have no strong draw to any zone. (I’m not even sure if there is lore about the zones to know or not! So maybe everyone is in the same boat there.) I think you really have to experience a zone before you can start playing favorites. You need to hear the music, walk the paths, and get a feel for the place. We aren’t there yet!

ROXXII THE BELOVED ASKED:

Q4TQ: What do you think about the math behind the legendary acquisitions?

Blizzard has managed to completely lose my interest on this subject. I’m a class that can get it (for transmog) but even if I got the item to drop, the cost of crafting the axe is so expensive that I wouldn’t be able to do it without buying a WoW Token. (Though now that I’m thinking about it, maybe that’s the goal.) Legendaries have become such a non-event. It’s a lengthy fight with RNG to get a drop followed by a tedious and expensive crafting process. It just doesn’t feel epic anymore.

I’m told that having this opinion means the axe will drop the next time I kill Fyrakk, but I can’t be bothered to care. If I get the drop, I can’t make it, and if I don’t get the drop I still can’t make it. There’s no difference either way.

TETSEMI ASKED:

What are your adjectives? (This is new favorite question)

Organized and anxious.

And that’s all for today my friends. I hope you have a good weekend, that you also get an axe to drop in LFR (or at least part of one), and that all of your in-game RNG dreams come true. Because heck, the random number generator has to go our way eventually, right? Right.
