World of Warcraft Plunderstorm ends on April 30, but you earn double reputation until the event ends!

The World of Warcraft Plunderstorm is now live, bringing an entirely new playstyle — a battle royale arena — a slew of cosmetic rewards for your retail WoW characters (and two for you Classic players). But how long do you have to grind your way through all 40 ranks in your Keg Leg’s Crew Renown track?

Not much longer now, as the Plunderstorm will soon come to an end. The event will be wrapping up before patch 10.2.7 arrives: Plunderstorm ends on April 30, 2024.

We have more Plunderstorm guides to help you reach all of your piratical goals! Here’s everything you need to know about Plunderstorm.

But if you’re trying to hit your Renown goals, Blizzard is helping out with what it calls a “Plundersurge,” which will double all of Renown gains starting with this week’s reset. So if you’re still working on collecting piratical-themed transmog and your very own parrot mount, the grind to 40 Renown is easier than ever. Here are some ways to earn the most Plunder (and thus the most Renown) during Plundersurge:

  • 500 Renown: Finish the quest you get when you land; you’ll get a new one each match!
  • 1600 Renown: Finish the daily quest that requires you to finish the once-per-match quest. Even if you don’t have much time to play, do this quest!
  • 1000 Renown: Be the last one standing. If you’re a pro Plunderstorm player, winning matches is the best way to climb the Renown ranks. If you can’t reliably win, though, focus on getting kills and collecting Plunder along the way.

Even if you aren’t big on PVP, it’s not to late to earn rewards, even without playing 24/7. Log on and do your daily quest for the bonus rep, and as you go focus on collecting Plunder — the piles of gold you find all over the map, and from killing mobs and players. If you’re not having fun with the PVP side of things, just run into the storm after you’ve finished your quest and queue up for another match.

With double rewards, you may be able to get a full Renown level from your first match of the day, as well as another Renown level every two or three matches after that. Even if you haven’t started, you can still make it to through all of the new transmog rewards before the event ends.

Plunderstorm wraps up for good on April 30, 2024, so get plundering my friends.
