The Queue: Well seasoned
This is the first time I’ve gotten into the endgame of Diablo 4 and I think I’ve gotten the hang of it mostly. I’m still a little squishy, and a few levels short of 100, but things are going well! I’ve finished the battle pass, and am most of the way through the seasonal challenges. I think what I like so much about the Diablo endgame is that it’s a great game to listen to podcasts with. I can let the podcast wash over me while I slay the myriad baddies of Sanctuary.
While I get my next episode queued up, it’s time for — The Queue!
Q4tQ (based on a post by MoveWoW ): What was the first article you saw here (including WoW-Insider)?
I don’t have an exact post to point to, but it would’ve been an Enhancement Shaman article in the Mists of Pandaria/Warlords of Draenor era. That’s when I swapped my main to a Shaman so I was looking for extra help getting it raid ready. That was so long ago though, how could I possibly point to just one Shaman article!?
I can, however, point to my very first article that was published on Blizzard Watch — so I’ve got that going for me!
Looks like I’m coming up on six years with the site! They still haven’t given me my sword!!
While I may not be contributing as many articles now as I used to with the pressures of the ol’ day job, I do still love being part of the team and being here every week to help start your Mondays off right!
Q4TQ: As I’ve been looking at all of the games on Steam I’m blown away with the shear number of them that are under $10 bucks. What’s the cheapest game that you bought on Steam and was surprised by how good it was?
Definitely Bastion by Supergiant Games. I remember that being fairly cheap for the time and it was easily worth the price of admission — and then some!
Sure a lot of that was on the unbelievable strength of Logan Cunningham as the narrator, but Bastion still knocked my socks off. It also remains the game that I keep meaning to go back and play again to choose a different ending. But every time I get to the end and I have the choice to leave the guy behind who betrays you or save him — I can’t help but save him. I’m not a monster!
Right. Tough Cow is 70. Time to learn how to be a tank.
How to tank: Any time anything goes wrong, it’s the DPS’ fault.
Other than that, you’re always right, and if you don’t know the path through the dungeon, just say that you’ve got a quest to go and get something in whatever wrong area you’ve wound up in. What are the odds that the people don’t know? Pretty low is my guess!
Also don’t forget to don your full-length sequined ball gown to help blind your enemies as you fight them!
Q4tQ Which raid fight do you feel makes the least amount of sense? Like what’s the point of killing Magaera in Throne of Thunder? It’s just a monster hanging out in the cave, it’s not blocking our way or anything (outside of requiring it’s defeat to proceed). The door is right there, we could go right by!
Well, the first ones that come to mind are the Council of Dreams and Nymue in Amirdrassil. We’re on their side! We have the Green Aspect with us! Why are we fighting these things that are so hellbent on keeping us from disrupting the balance even though there’s a giant fiery proto-dragon who’s been snorting more pure Shadowflame than an entire year’s worth of drugs at Studio 54.
I feel like that Fyrakk getting what he wants is way more of a disruption to the Cycle than us being let in to pick up a seed so we can go fight Smoldy. We could even wipe our feet at the entrance!
My second thought is the Gunship battle in Icecrown Citadel. That’s a fairly obvious one though, of course we shouldn’t take the time in the middle of trying to stop Arthas from unleashing a massive Undead army on the whole world to fight amongst ourselves. Just amateur-hour nonsense!
Q4tQ: Are they resetting Flightstones and the other upgrade currencies when Season 4 starts?
Very likely yes. We had a Flightstone reset going into Season 3, so it’d make sense that we get another as Season 4 starts. We certainly shouldn’t be stockpiling the various Crests now either. Assuming that we’re keeping the same style of upgrades into Season 4, Blizzard doesn’t want the people who’ve been farming M+ and Raid for the last few weeks to go in with a massive boost to their gear that first week.
Hopefully, the gold conversion we get at the start of the season is a nice one!
Here’s Bacardi reminding you that isn’t it so nice we have more convenient graveyards now? Also maybe can you offer him a hand(or shoulder) to get down from the top of this door? He’ll probably reward you in your Great Vault this week if you can help him out!
Today’s Anna Earworm™: Run-Around
Have an excellent day everyone, remember that if you don’t leave Anna with lots of questions for tomorrow we’ll all be very sad.
