The Queue: Who’s afraid of little ol’ me?

Hey everybody! That’s right, little ol’ me is stepping in for Cory this Monday. Don’t worry, though, I’ll be sure to make it at Cory-ific as normal so don’t be distressed! That said, I tried to get song lyrics to work and I totally could not do so. He makes it look so effortless, too!

Anyways, why don’t we get right to it?

I mean, hasn’t everybody on the Internet done so at some point? While “Kalcheus” is pretty close to who I am, I certainly wasn’t a dwarf when I went by the name “Chrth”!

Yeah, the loss of the community events is a real blow. They did promise gatherings to celebrate the Warcraft dual anniversaries, so hopefully a lot of attendees will choose to attend in cosplay!

Sadly if I go I’ll likely have to cosplay as a writer for BlizzardWatch instead of Dagran II.

Pretty much, yes! After a few false starts and bugs there’s a lot of upgraded gear to get from the open world and of course there’s been a big bump to ilvl in heroic and mythic+0 dungeons. Awakened Raids are this expansions Fated Raids — but without affixes; the bosses are just tuned higher — and the Antique Bronze Bullion can get you gear and transmog. Just make sure you’re in the right instance. This week is Vault of the Incarnates but after reset it’ll be Aberrus’ turn, followed by Amirdrassil next week. After two full cycles (aka six weeks) all three raids will be Awakened together for the rest of the season, although if you’re like me you may be too busy with WoW Remix: Mists to bother.

I know what you’re thinking: oh he’s definitely going to choose Moira. I mean, I am the person who has said that I’ll quit WoW if they kill/sideline Moira in a stupid fashion. However, as long as it makes sense in terms of the plot and doesn’t involve a ludicrous heel turn I’m not so in favor of Moira surviving the expansion that’d I’d condemn the others to death just to save her.

All that said of course I’m choosing Moira. Anduin, Thrall, and Alleria’s deaths would all actually be a lot more meaningful and impactful than Moira’s death. While I and a few others would be upset if Moira were killed off, the overall impact to the story would be on the low side. Meanwhile, the other three’s deaths would have repercussions for generations which is something that can’t be said for Moira.

Plus she’s got a sweet new model and everything!

If he really wanted to be covered here he should’ve done it mid-week! We rarely publish on weekends!

This is a good question. I do think at the bare minimum there won’t be any sort of these events during the first tier. Second and third tier (and Season 4, if they do it again next expansion) are possibilities but I just …

Let me start again.

We know the Worldsoul Saga is going to try to have a quicker cadence than Dragonflight and Shadowlands. But unless they decide to replace the .7 patches with events like Plunderstorm and ReMists I don’t see how it’s viable to have them running alongside normal content. There’s a real danger that there may be simply too many things to do with our sub (and that doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of Classic) and that counter-intuitively drives people away. I’m loathe to complain about additional and optional content — and of course I’m not leaving WoW any time soon — but I am a tad concerned that they’re trying to do too much to keep people playing and paying.

The Draenei are the closest thing to a space-faring race we have in WoW so if any group deserves a sci-fi font the Draenei do. At least until we get playable raptors.

They can! I really wish Follower Dungeons had been a thing at the beginning of Dragonflight because that would’ve been so much easier than farming for them in Nokhud Offensive with a full group (as I was loathe to bail after the first boss).

There is a catchup mechanism for them; if you don’t get one this week you’ll be able to get two next week! Since the drop rate is high but not guaranteed, there is a potential limit to how many you can get in a week — if you wait until Week 6 you may not get 6 of them to drop for you. Fortunately Week 7 is when all three raids go Awakened so that increases your ability to catch up.
