You can finally play Fallout: London, the massive mod that takes Fallout 4 overseas

Fallout London

After five years of development and a few delays — most recently caused by the major Fallout 4 next generation patch in April — Fallout: London is finally available for download. Due to its size, the highly anticipated total conversion mod of Fallout 4 will not be just a simple install from popular mod site, NexusMods. It will require a bit of work on your end before you head off to post-apocalyptic England.

You need to download the mod’s installer from GOG Galaxy, but you don’t need their version of the base game. Fallout: London‘s installer will work with the Steam, PC Game Pass, and GOG version (which is currently on sale) of Fallout 4. Only the recently released Epic Game Store version of the game will be unable to play Fallout: London. This is due to Epic not being able to roll back versions of Fallout 4, which is needed to run Fallout: London.

After a few months of work, the Fallout: London team determined that the Fallout 4 next gen update had broken too many older mods, and so you to revert to an older edition of Fallout 4 to play Fallout: London. Thankfully a program to roll back your Fallout patch is included with the Fallout: London installer, making this a piece of cake.

Though it hasn’t been stated yet, you will probably also want to disable any Fallout 4 mods you currently have running. With Nexus Mods’ mod controller, Vortex, this is a simple task of just clicking them off, as well as setting up a profile for a quick change.

This immense mod could not be released in normal methods due to an original soundtrack longer than the actual base game’s music and extensive voice acting from many different sources. Contributors lending their voice include members of the Fallout community, famous voice actors like Neil Newbon (Asterion of Baldur’s Gate 3), two Doctor Who veterans, and a Speaker of the House robot voiced by famed former UK Speaker John Bercow. Instead, Fallout: London had to be put up on GOG Galaxy as a free download.

Fallout: London is available today, so mind the gap and carry on. Download it from GOG now.
