Race to World First Day 8: Reset day reclears

Yesterday was reset day for NA realms — namely reset for current first place guild Team Liquid — and today is reset day for EU guilds — Echo and Method. That means the race has slowed significantly as guilds take the opportunity to grab more gear, running heroic splits, Mythic+, and reclearing Mythic Nerub-ar Palace.

Yesterday Liquid recleared up to Queen Ansurek, and today they’re making progress on the boss — though they only have her down to 64%, and we still don’t know if we’ll see a special Mythic phase or mechanics that could up the difficulty in unexpected ways.

Echo got a Silken Court kill relatively early yesterday and did a few pulls on Ansurek before calling it a night to jump in on reset day well-rested, and today they’ve been collecting gear and reclearing Mythic. The team stumbled a bit on the reclear — these bosses are still tough kills, even for guilds who have done it before — but made some more progress on Ansurek before calling an early night.

But Method didn’t manage to kill Silken Court before maintenance; the team extended its raid day to try to get the kill, but kept getting pulls in the 2-3% range. They pulled right up to maintenance at 3am local time without success. But instead of calling it a night, they waited out maintenance and took advantage of the gap between maintenance and reset to finally take down Silken Court after a total of 210 pulls. The guild did a couple of pulls on Ansurek and went to bed around reset time. Now they’re back, doing heroic splits for gear like everyone else has.

Just behind them in the race is Chinese guild Huoguo Hero, still stuck on Silken Court, which they have down to 27%. Chinese server reset is tomorrow, which will give the four Chinese guilds in the top 10 — Huoguo, Jitianhong, ZboX, and End Myth — a gear boost to help them through the last few bosses. Hopefully Huoguo manages to take out Silken Court before reset, because this will unlock Silken Court loot in their Great Vault.

It’s a close race between our top two guilds, but they still have a lot to health to get through before they can take out Queen Ansurek. For now, here’s where things stand in the Race to World First for Nerub’ar Palace,
