Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 10: Second Nature starts on April 29, so get ready to head back to the Battlegrounds!

We now have an official release date for Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 10, which begins on April 29. As usual, the new season will rotate the mechanics of the game mode, bringing back Trinkets this time, in place of the Anomalies from Season 9.

Season 10 will also bring a new Battlegrounds Track filled with cosmetics that follow a new theme, Afterlife — so you can expect to meet denizens of the Shadowlands, from the Winter Queen to Zovaal. Also, a new Season Pass is coming, and assuming the pricing doesn’t change, you should be able to get it for either 1500 Runestones (if you buy it in-game) or $15 (if you get it from the Battle.net shop). The Season Pass unlocks extra cosmetics, but — perhaps more importantly — it allows you to choose from four heroes instead of two on every game. So while the pass is not required to play the game, it does sadly give you a distinct gameplay advantage. There’s also a Season Pass+, which costs $20 and gives players one free Hero reroll per game (in addition to the standard Season Pass benefits).

Season 10 will also majorly shake up the roster with a big minion refresh, removing some minions from the game, bringing back some old minions that had been removed before, rebalancing a few of the existing minions, and more importantly, adding new minions to the fray. Expect 75 new (or returning) minions and spells to make an appearance this season. The new season will also add two new Heroes to the rotation: Forest Lord Cenarius and Buttons.

Hearthstone Battlegrounds Seasons are analogous to expansions for Constructed Hearthstone, lasting for about four months each. They’re always released on the game’s x.2 patches:

• Season 1 ran from May 10, 2022 (patch 23.2), to August 30, 2022.
• Season 2 ran from August 30, 2022 (patch 24.2) to January 17, 2023.
• Season 3 ran from January 17, 2023 (patch 25.2) to May 9, 2023.
• Season 4 ran from May 9, 2023 (patch 26.2) to August 22, 2023.
• Season 5 ran from August 22, 2023 (patch 27.2) to December 5, 2023.
• Season 6 ran from December 5, 2023 (patch 28.2) to April 16, 2024.
• Season 7 ran from April 16, 2024 (patch 29.2) to August 20, 2024.
• Season 8 ran from August 20, 2024 (patch 30.2) to December 3, 2024.
• Season 9 ran from December 3, 2025 (patch 31.2) to April 29, 2025.
• Season 10 will start April 29, 2025 (patch 32.2), and we expect it to run until August 2025.

So there you have it: Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 10, Second Nature, will take us to the afterlife on April 29, 2025.
