The Queue: Continuously expanding character backstory

Left to my own devices I will absolutely just keep expanding the backstories I create for each and every tabletop RPG character I make, and truthfully, even characters I make for video games like Baldur’s Gate 3, Wrath of the Righteous or Rogue Trader. I mean, paragraph after paragraph explaining every single detail of my character’s life and history.
I don’t know why I do this.
Q4tQ Have you discovered any new authors lately? I just finished Dragonfly Gambit by A.D. Sui and I was pretty impressed.
S. A. Chakraborty and her Daevabad trilogy seems pretty interesting so far.
Q4TQ: Have you ever wished that you were the leader of you’ve very own evil cult?
Not after the last one, no.
There’s a rumor on the web that 89 million Steam account details were leaked on the dark web.
It’s unconfirmed and probably not true, but it probably doesn’t hurt to update your security.
If anyone ends up stealing my identity they deserve it. I genuinely would feel pity for them.
QftQ: Is there any company that you’re boycotting, for a petty reason?
For me, it’s Popeyes Chicken. The jerks killed the Cajun rice, and now they’re DEAD TO ME!!!!!!
Ubisoft. Because they keep making games that I don’t like instead of a sequel to Odyssey set during the Anabasis. You could do a whole trilogy about Kassandra getting revenge on the Persians for how the Order of the Ancients kidnapped her son and ultimately forced her to allow the child to be taken away from her.
I mean, seriously, you steal the great grandson of Leonidas from his ridiculously talented, nigh superhuman killing machine of a mother and then, even when she murders her way through your group until she gets him back, she’s still forced to leave the child to keep their assassins away from him? I feel like two games where she wrecks Persian interests until the entire empire falls apart, and even dealing with the Makedonian royal house and eventually Alexander the Great would be amazing.
So of course they made Shadows and even worse, Mirage, the game that stars the least charismatic main character in the series history. Give me Kassandra you jackals.
What are some of your worst loot luck stories? – You got it in the end, but it was weeks and weeks of attempts. Bonus points for things that aren’t 1% drops normally.
Last night I finally got the Hearthstone off Stix in the Undermine raid, as the sole roller because everyone else has managed to get it before me… Another example, when my then raid team was farming Mythic Jaina for her mount drop, I again was near the end of the line when it came to getting a winning roll for it.
But possibly one of my longest waits and first examples thereof, was back when Black Temple was the current raid, took me 6 months to finally see the paladin boots drop from Najentus, but that was also due to there only being 2 pieces of loot per kill for 25 people.
It took me eight years to get Rossi’s Rosin-Soaked Shoulderplates. I ended up spending over 200,000 of my guildmates’ gold because Ordos just wouldn’t drop them.
I am completely incapable of thinking about that flaming yakity yak without wanting him dead.
Q4tRossiQueue: what dinosaur do you most want as a mount in WoW?
And is it just me, or is there a real shortage of dinosaur mounts in the game?
I think there are a fair amount of Dinosaur mounts in WoW, really. If we don’t count bird mounts (and we should, because Birds are Dinosaurs) there’s still two Brutosaurs, eleven Direhorns, 28 Raptors (plus 2 that aren’t available anymore), one undead Raptor, and a mecha-Devilsaur. I’m not counting Pterr0rdax mounts, but there’d be another 13 if I was.
That’s 43 without Pterrordaxes, and 56 with them.
As for what Dinosaur I would want as a mount? Saurophaganax, aka Allosaurus Anax. Strange Lizard King, I choose you.
