The Queue: Yogg-Ramen vs. Punch-Saron

Two Old Gods enter. One Old God gets consumed by everyone attending the event. Which one is it? The hearty and savory Yogg-Ramen or the zesty, vibrant Punch-Saron?

Do we want our guests to be full and relaxed or uplifted and sociable? In fact, what kind of event are we having here? Where are we?!

Are we in a cult?!?

As we feel the dread creep in and question all of our life decisions that led us to this moment, somehow working in catering for a tall, strange man who’s hired us and paid us really well, but is definitely hiding some tentacles in that robe of his, let’s forget all of that and just Queue for a moment.

THOMAS STRANGE

So now that we’re at least approaching a reasonable Midnight pre-order deadline (August is my guess), how do you think The War Within’s three-day early access experience went? Will Blizzard offer it again, do you think, or was it too much of a headache? If you had it, was it worth it?

I hate that it existed yet I felt obligated to partake in it.

I don’t necessarily agree with the arguments that it gave players an unfair advantage, because the vast majority of endgame systems were completely locked during the pre-order period — no one could really progress or gear up yet. But I can see how the perception that you were being left behind was very much there — and that, by itself, is a sucky-enough situation.

The main issue I have with it is that it’s nothing more than a way to artificially generate revenue through dreaded FOMO. And it separates players into two distinct groups during what is, in my opinion, always the most fun period of any expansion, which is when players are leveling up, exploring new zones, interacting with new systems, and there’s this general sense of shared discovery and camaraderie. Pre-order separation throws a big fat wrench into all that.

Q4tQ What titles would you like to see added in WoW? Besides an “of [Capital]” for all the races that don’t have one, I’d also like to see Riftwalker.

Musician [name]
Baker [name]
[name], the Gambler
[name], the Butcher
[name] of the Jungle
[name], Herald of Yogg-Saron
[name], Herald of C’Thun
[name], Herald of N’Zoth
[name], Herald of Y’Shaarj
Proscenium Punk [name]
Bold [name]
Matador [name]

The more I think about this, the more ideas I have, so I’d better stop here.

Q4tQ I’m setting up the pets for my BM Hunter. I’m going with Aqiri for group content and Clefthoof for Solo Content. What pet should I get for the Animal Companion slot that works with both families aesthetically?

Worms seem like a reasonable middle-ground. You’ve got the aggressive, alien-like appearance from the Aqirs and the “hardness” of the Clefthooves.

Ravagers and Scorpids could work as well, for similar reasons, though they’re both more similar to Aqiri than to Clefthoof.

You could also go with Chimaera and just throw caution to the wind. That saying doesn’t really apply here, but a man who tames a Chimaera is an unpredictable being who’s wont to baffle and mesmerize their adversaries with both tactics and words.

VALENCEMAGI

Welp. Time to murder 300-500 trolls for their dandelions.

Don’t kid yourself, Val. If a dandelion ever got the chance, it’d eat you and every troll you care about!

ECHOCHASER FARADAI

Good morning all. My son Nicholas was born last night at 8:35. He weighed in at 5 lbs 9 oz and was 17in (I think). Him and mom are doing great.

HUGE CONGRATS, DUDE! Enjoy every second with your little gremlin. <3

Trick question! The real answer was secret option 3: Yogg-Tastic Pastries. Yum!

Have a nice weekend, Queue, and remember: Yogg feeds all. Yogg loves you. Praise Yogg.
