The Queue: Does Bethesda really need to make an Elder Scrolls 6?

Or a Fallout 5 for that matter.

I was downloading some mods for Fallout 4 when it hit me — this game is going to be ten years old this year. At this point, why make TES 6 when you can just get a version of Skyrim that’ll run on your refridgerator?

In real life, Providence. Naming a city Providence is saying “God protects this city” and it’s just astonishingly arrogant and pretentious for anyone to assume they know the mind of God that well. Yes, as a matter of fact, I was born there.

Might as well have named it “Kick me here”

I know this is in reference to the Arathi and the new content, but my word, it brought so many different fictional Emperors (and some nonfictional ones) to the forefront of my mind at once that I got Emperor overload and started imagining weird fusions or swaps.

Sadly the CMS hates it when I enjoy myself so I’ll just say that I was very entertained at the idea of the sandworms from Dune being Neothelids.

I mean, turtles are apparently more closely related to dinosaurs than lizards are.

No, seriously, the Pantestudines (a proposed clade for all animals more closely related to Turtles than any other reptiles) are considered to be in Archosauromorphia. while lizards are members of Lepidosauromorphia.

So if I root for the lizards I’m rooting for non-dinosaurs who aren’t even as closely related to dinosaurs as turtles are, and therefore, I am forced to root for the turtles. It’s just science.

It’s wonderfully illustrative of the way Paleontology sifts through evidence. We’ve known about the bones in question since the early 1970’s, but they were first considered to be parts of another Tyrannosaurid species, Alectrosaurus (no, not Electrosaurus, as far as I know there wasn’t a dinosaur with electrical powers trying to kill a spider powered superhero dinosaur, but I could be wrong about that.)

We’ve known about quite a few members of the Tyrannosauroidea similar to our newly crowned Dragon Prince, but Khankhuuluu is a lot more basal than those animals (for example, Alioramys and Qianzhousaurus from the Alioramini) and demonstrates how conditions in the region across millions of years convergently shaped these animals. Despite not being ancestral to the Alioramini, Khankhuuluu is very similar in size and body type and likely occupied a similar niche.

All in all, a very cool new addition to our knowledge of the Tyrannosauroidea.

Diablo RTS. I’ve wanted one of these forever. I know, Solium Infernum exists, but still.

I miss Fallout as an isometric CRPG. I love the current games, as we all know, but I’d still love to see a Larianesque spin on the franchise, or maybe get Owlcat, not like they’re busy or anything. (I kid because I love.)

I’d sad that we’ll probably never see another Dragon Age game, so why not imagine a MMO set in Thedas? Maybe even work in the lands from Jade Empire as the first expansion while I’m wishing for horses here. (Yes, the game should also have horses.)

I’m still in love with Doom: The Dark Ages so why not suggest a ridiculously gory, explosive first person action game based around Reaper from Overwatch? Heck, maybe it can also be a dating sim, where Reyes finally admits he loves Morrison and they finally get together.

Okay, that’s the Queue. Maybe Reyes and Morrison can be dinosaurs?
