Manaforge Omega Race to World First day 4: A second boss down!
It’s day 4 of the Manaforge Omega Race to World First and we’ve seen a second boss fall! World First Soulbinder Naazindhri went to SOMA, earning the guild’s first World First kill. Congrats!
After Plexus Sentinel, guilds can choose to go Loom’ithar or Soulbinder, and initially guilds seemed to think Loom’ithar would be the easier fight. But every guild that tried decided they needed more gear after only a few pulls: SOMA instead went to Soulbinder and took only six pulls to bring this boss down. After SOMA proved it was possible — and a lot easier than Loom’ithar — seven more guilds killed Soulbinder Naazindhri within the hour.
Loom’ithar remains undefeated, though Consequence — which earned World First Plexus Sentinel — has the best pull at 50%. That means guilds still have a long way to go to take out this moth… spider… silkworm… monstrosity.
So what about the big guilds? Liquid, Echo, and Method still haven’t jumped into Mythic, though all appear to be coming to the end of their splits. Echo has finished their day after some Mythic+, and Method is wrapping up its own Mythic+ before calling it a night. Liquid is still early in its game day, and has been running Mythic+, Ulduar Timewalking, and Heroic Dimenseius. Chinese guilds like Huoguo Hero are also still in prep mode and haven’t hit the leaderboards.
Guilds probably have a little more prep they can do before reaching the end. Running hard mode Tazavesh with no players dying rewards a guaranteed piece of Myth-track loot for each player, which could be a big boost — but also suffers from RNG, and if anyone in the group dies, no one gets this reward. We may see more guilds hitting Timewalking Ulduar and making sure all players get through their weekly Mythic+, particularly Tazavesh, and both Echo and Method probably have Heroic Dimensius splits left to run. It doesn’t matter if these guilds get world first kills on these early bosses: only Dimensius really matters, and they can take their time to give themselves every possible advantage.
Still, it’s possible Liquid heads into Mythic soon, perhaps even after their lunch break. And if they do, I expect them to speed through the first few bosses with all the gear they’ve collected. Echo and Method will probably do the same at some point tomorrow… but there’s no guarantee.
When the race gets moving, it will probably move quickly. I’ll be back tomorrow with another update, which I suspect will feature several boss kills as the guilds who have focused on prep this week hit Mythic for the first time.
