Manaforge Omega Race to World First day 5: One moth down and much more progress

On day 5, the Manaforge Omega Race to World First is starting to speed up. After five days of running splits, Mythic+, Timewalking, and zero-death Tazavesh, the top guilds have headed into Mythic Manaforge Omega. Instant Dollars — which came in fifth in Liberation of Undermine and sixth in Nerub-ar Palace — went in to pick up World First Loom’ithar.

Which, let me say, thank goodness. I’m thrilled that this boss did not become a wall that required us to watch dozens of pulls of poor Loom’ithar ripping itself in half trying to destroy whatever raid team dared approach. Put this poor moth out of its misery. Congrats, Instant Dollars!

Liquid followed them into Mythic Friday night, starting with a dramatic Plexus Sentinel kill: the tanks were the only ones alive at 1%, and only one Blood Death Knight was left standing at the end. They one-shot the boss, but you could only call it dicey. Still, they went on to one-shot Soulbinder Naazindhri and Loom’ithar.

The guild Banhammer has been making good progress on Saturday, jumping into Mythic to kill Sentinel, Soulbinder, and Loom’ithar for world third. Echo went into Mythic Manaforge on Saturday afternoon also, with clean one-shots of Plexus Sentinel and Soulbinder, before wiping on Loom’thar (which they killed on the second pull). Method is expected to jump into Mythic today too, but hasn’t yet.

That brings us to Forgeweaver Araz, who’s proving to be more of a challenge. We haven’t seen many pulls on this boss, but it remains undefeated. Here’s what the leaderboard looks like for Araz right now:

  • Instant Dollars: 69% after 28 pulls
  • Liquid: 78% after 4 pulls
  • Banhammer: 82% after 2 pulls

However, the European guilds — Echo, Method, Banhammer — are heading towards the end of their raid day. But for North American guilds — Liquid, Instant Dollars — it’s only mid-afternoon. Liquid, in particular, is just starting its raid day and hasn’t entered Mythic yet. There’s still plenty of time for EU guilds to progress through the evening (especially once everyone is refreshed by a nice dinner buff!), but Liquid still has a full day ahead of them.

It’s early days yet, and this race is anyone’s to win.

That’s the state of things right now, but with so many guilds in Mythic right now the race is constantly changing! I’ll keep you up to date with another update tomorrow afternoon, but if you want more frequent updates, I recommend watching Raider.io for up-to-the-minute coverage of the race!
