Manaforge Omega Race to World First day 8: Working in the void mines

Yesterday, the whole race upended itself by the time I posted our Manaforge Omega Race to World First update. But today… well, we’re in the same place we left off yesterday. (More or less.) There have been no new world first kills: Liquid, Echo, and Method are all still on Nexus-King Salhadaar (affectionately nicknamed “salad bar”), and though they’ve all made progress in the last day, this boss doesn’t look like he’s going down soon.

It’s reset day for NA realms, which includes Team Liquid. The team logged on after maintenance to check vaults and collect new gear to help them finish off this fight. But reset day also means raids have reset, so we’re in for more splits. I expect Liquid to spend its day gearing up with splits and Mythic+ before heading back into Manaforge Omega with a few more item levels.

But the EU reset is overnight, so tomorrow Echo and Method will be doing the same. It’s a little mid-race breather while guilds gather a new week of gear.

In China, Huoguo Hero has taken out Forgeweaver Araz and Soul Hunters, getting world fourth on both. The guild is making good progress on Fractillus…. and it seems likely that they’ll join the rest at Nexus-King before their own reset. The rest of the race remains stuck on Forgeweaver Araz, including a number of guilds on NA realms who have reset today, like Instant Dollars, which is currently sitting at fifth place. But the ranks may change significantly in the next day or two as reset day gives players a gear advantage.

With Gamescom in progress right now, and Midnight news coming any minute, I’m going to skip a detailed rundown of the fight: suffice to say everyone is working through this void-cursed fight (some players are even using Inky Black Potions to make it easier to see effects).

Here are the current standings:

  • Echo (6/8), with Salhadaar at 30% (P3) after 95 pulls
  • Liquid (6/8), with Salhadaar at 62% (P3) after 80 pulls
  • Method (6/8), with Salhadaar at 66% (P3) after 77 pulls
  • Huoguo Hero (5/8), with Fractillus at 26% after 6 pulls
  • Instant Dollars (3/8), with Forgeweaver Araz at 4.82% after 161 pulls

Note that Salhadaar health percentages can be deceiving based on how he heals during the fight. Raider.io takes this into consideration in the health percentages it reports, and I’m using their numbers here.

The next day is likely to be a slow one as raiders do more splits, but I’ll keep you up to date with another update tomorrow afternoon. However, if you want more frequent updates, I recommend watching Raider.io for up-to-the-minute coverage of the race!
