Manaforge Omega Race to World First day 9: On to Demensius! (For some of us)
The Manaforge Omega Race to World First is inching towards a close as Nexus-King Salhadhaar falls. (At least he falls for now, as he’s also announced to be a boss in the first raid tier of Midnight.) Liquid managed to get the World First Salhadhaar kill late Tuesday, after spending most of the day on splits and making comp changes and incremental improvements until they secured a kill late in the day, after 108 pulls. Here’s the kill video, which is picture perfect: they didn’t even use a single battle rez.
The final kill comp was an interesting one, stacking four Arcane Mages and two Augmentation Evokers to keep those Mages buffed up and doing max damage. It’s not a comp the average guild could probably field, but the top guilds have the players to make big comp adjustments like this on the fly.
Meanwhile, EU guilds were playing catchup as it was their reset day, so guilds did more splits, Mythic+, and no-death Tazavesh to up their item level. Both Echo and Method recleared Mythic Manaforge without much trouble, and got back to working on the Nexus-King. Echo got the world second kill — using a similar four Mage comp — after 123 pulls. Method, however, is still stuck on the boss. The team went to bed after pull 135, with the boss at a low of 1.9%. So close!
Now, Liquid and Echo are both on Mythic Dimensius. The boss wasn’t tested at all on the PTR, and we’re just seeing the Mythic mechanics for the first time. The fight is, let’s call it complicated, and after a day of prog Liquid and Echo have both only gotten into phase 2. (Though, unsurprisingly, neither of them have had nearly as much trouble with the dragonriding segment as I have.)
But we’ll dig into more of how the guilds are progressing on Dimensius tomorrow. For now, here are the current standings:
- Liquid (7/8), with Dimensius at 18% (P2.1) after 104 pulls
- Echo (7/8), with Dimensius at 62% (P2.1) after 57 pulls
- Method (6/8), with Salhadaar at 5.6% (P3) after 135 pulls
- Huoguo Hero (6/8), with Salhadaar at 75% after 20 pulls
- Instant Dollars (5/8), with Fractillus at 0.47% after 5 pulls
Note that Salhadaar health percentages can be deceiving based on how he heals during the fight. Raider.io takes this into consideration in the health percentages it reports, and I’m using their numbers here.
The next day is likely to be a slow one as raiders do more splits, but I’ll keep you up to date with another update tomorrow afternoon. However, if you want more frequent updates, I recommend watching Raider.io for up-to-the-minute coverage of the race!
