Manaforge Omega Race to World First day 11: Heading towards a photo finish in the Dimmydome

It’s been a long day of prog on Mythic Dimensius in the Manaforge Omega Race to World First, and still no one has come out ahead. Liquid and Echo have traded the lead throughout the day, but neither guild has gotten Dimmy into single digit health yet, even as pull counts progress into the hundreds. Right now Liquid is in the lead, but they’re approaching the end of their raid day, whereas Echo and Method will be logging on soon. The race is on, and it may be close.

The holdup is just that Dimensius has a whole lot of health, with billions of hit points to burn through. Echo and Liquid have both gotten very good at getting through through the first two phases of the fight, making it cleanly into phase 3: but Liquid has a best of 27% and Echo has a best of 36% before Dimensius enrages. That’s a whole lot of health to burn through (and not a lot of time to do it in).

One problem is Bloodlust. Guilds have been using it early in the fight to burn the boss and get through those early phases fast to be able to progress further into the fight. However, the fight isn’t long enough for two Bloodlusts, and the damage boost is dearly needed for the final phase 3 burn. Liquid has shifted Bloodlust to phase 3, but it’s made their phase 1 shaky, and we’re seeing a lot more early wipes. It’s a tough time for these raiders as progress has backslid… even though it’s with purpose.

But things could be coming together for Liquid. The question is whether they’ll come together before exhaustion hits tonight — or before Echo comes in refreshed for another day in the Dimmydome. (It’s where you fight Dimensius, so it is obviously the Dimmydome.)

As to the rest of the pack, Huoguo Hero managed to take out Nexus-King after 204 pulls to join the rest on Dimensius. China’s top guild has only put in 15 pulls to get Dimmy to 48% in P1, but that’s good progress on a tough fight. They’re the only other guild up to Dimensius, and no one is even close behind as the rest of the race remains stuck on Nexus-King Salhadaar.

Here the current standings:

  • Liquid (7/8), with Dimensius at 27% (P3) after 314 pulls
  • Echo (7/8), with Dimensius at 36% (P3) after 248 pulls
  • Method (7/8), with Dimensius at 48% (P3) after 188 pulls
  • Huoguo Hero (7/8), with Dimensius at 75% (P1) after 15 pulls
  • Instant Dollars (5/8), with Salhadaar at 57% (P3) after 74 pulls

I’ll be back with another update with news on what happens in to Saturday… or maybe I’ll be back sooner than that if we wind up with a quick Dimmensius kill. It only takes one good pull to get a kill: it’s all another day in the Dimmydome!
