Manaforge Omega Race to World First day 12: Things are heating up in the Dimmydome as we speed towards a Dimensius kill
Yesterday I thought we were heading towards a late night photo finish, but Dimensius is one tough void being and the Manaforge Omega Race to World First continues into day 12. Guilds have made a lot of progress in the past day, but it’s progress by inches, as guilds have have decided that Bloodlust is essential for a phase 3 burn and are moving it out of phase 1.
We saw Liquid dealing with this yesterday: moving lust from phase 1 means you need more damage and healing to get through phase 1, and it made the fight very inconsistent. Today Echo has been going through the same, re-learning phase 1 where the timing on everything is just that little bit different as the damage patterns they’ve gotten used to over the course of 300+ pulls.
Liquid was getting very good at this, and had started to get Dimensius back into phase 3 consistently, making slow progress towards a kill, and extended their raid day to keep working on it. However, around 1am local time they decided sleep was more important than late night progression: and that Dimensius was so difficult that Echo, even as well as they’ve been playing, wouldn’t be able to kill it before the guild got back online. And that’s been borne out, as Echo has gone through the same slow grind as Liquid did yesterday.
Method has just started to shift lust timing, while Echo and Liquid have both been experimenting with a split lust in which they lust pre-pull before everyone rezzes, staggering the buff (and the debuff). The goal seems to be to give healers, specifically, a boost at the end of phase 3 when the healing requirements are massive, while letting the DPS get lust at the beginning of phase 3 when the boss is taking increased damage. But it complicates the timing and makes pulls slower as you have to coordinate the sated timers — all for a small edge in the last stretch.
But it continues to be a battle of inches, as guilds chop away at Timmy’s health. Echo, Liquid, and Method are all into phase 3, with Echo in the lead with a 5.56% best pull. Liquid lags behind at 13% and Method following at 27%. Huoguo Hero is still in phase 2, with its best pull at 45% (P2.2). There are no other guilds on Mythic Dimensius, with the rest of the pack stuck on Nexus-King Salhadaar.
Here the current standings:
- Echo (7/8), with Dimensius at 5.56% (P3) after 318 pulls
- Liquid (7/8), with Dimensius at 13.13% (P3) after 351 pulls
- Method (7/8), with Dimensius at 27% (P3) after 246 pulls
- Huoguo Hero (7/8), with Dimensius at 45% (P1) after 151 pulls
- Jitianhong (6/8), with Salhadaar at 12.21% (P3) after 234 pulls
If the fight continues through reset, guilds will see a big boost from Manaforge Vandals reputation, which will provide everyone a +3% damage/healing buff. I don’t think the Race to World First will last that long, but this will give other guilds struggling — and not just on Dimensius — a big boost. That extra 3% will help everyone trying to prog, even if you’re just working on normal or heroic.
I think we’re likely to see a kill today, and I’ll update you with another post if we do. This race is heading quickly to a close, but with the top two guilds less than a percent of health apart, there’s definitely not a clear winner yet.
