Here’s how to sign up for the World of Warcraft Midnight beta, now live
World of Warcraft Midnight is on the horizon, and the beta test is now live! If you haven’t gotten in, Blizzard has opened up the sign-ups for the Midnight beta test, so if you’re interested, sign up for a chance to get into the beta and try out the new features like player housing and the new transmog system. Don’t expect these to be perfectly finished versions — the purpose of the beta test is to test — but the more people who get into the beta and try features out (including trying to break them, the better they’ll release when Midnight launches for real.
The good news is that it’s super easy to sign yourself up for the beta, and it won’t cost you anything.
All you have to do is go to the main Midnight website and log in to your Battle.net account. After that, hit either of the big buttons that say “Beta Opt-In.” Your name will be added to the list, and that’s all you have to do! After Blizzard starts up the beta realms, you have a chance to be added.
If you don’t get a beta invite immediately, don’t get discouraged. Often, players will be added in big waves, and if you aren’t in the first you may be in the second or third or fourth, because Blizzard usually expands access gradually. Previous betas have also had big stress test weekends where they’ll let as many people in as possible to really make sure that the servers can handle the new features.
If you don’t want to leave anything up to chance, you’ll also be guaranteed beta access if you buy the Epic Edition of Midnight. The Epic Edition also comes with three days of early access to Midnight and a variety of fun pets and transmogs for your character and house.
Just remember that Blizzard has moved away from beta keys: to see if you have beta access, open the Battle.net client and check the game version drop-down. If you see Midnight beta listed, you have access. Never give your password or account information to a non-Blizzard source, and don’t trust anyone who tries to sell you a beta key. Though there may be key giveaways on streams or from creators in the future, be careful and don’t give anyone your account details. You don’t want to get scammed out of your account right before the beta hits!
