Ten mounts from K’aresh that are easy to pick up
We’re a few weeks into our time on K’aresh, so it’s a good time to take a close look at the mounts that can be earned on the shattered planetoid before we Phase Dive off to our next adventure. As always, there are mounts that can be earned from renown tracks (three from the K’aresh Trust and two from the Manaforge Vandals) as well as from running dungeons and raids. Today we’ll hone in on ten you can collect while you are exploring and questing through patch 11.2’s content.
While you don’t need to have totally completed all of the story on K’aresh, you’ll need to progress far enough into the campaign to earn your Reshii Wraps and begin Phase Diving for many of these trusty steeds. We’ll use the standard Blizzard Watch scales of awesomeness and difficulty to help you identify which of these mounts you’re going to focus on earning next.

Difficulty: 1/10 Awesomeness: 7.5/10
After learning a great deal about the history of K’aresh and its now energy-based peoples, the main 11.2 campaign will require you to obtain your very own magical cape in order to transfigure yourself into pure energy. One of the first things you’ll be asked to do upon gaining this Phase Diving ability is the ubiquitous “go do more of that stuff” weekly quest in the form of More Than Just a Phase.
The rewards for that weekly come in the form of Untethered Coins, and you’ll earn seven each week you complete it. That makes our first mount just about the easiest to be able to obtain, since it happens to cost exactly seven of those coins and can be purchased right after your first turn-in. I really like this land-based bug. It does share a model with two renown track mounts, but the venomous green accents and absolutely nightmare-inducing face make it my favorite of the three.

Difficulty: 1/10 Awesomeness: 6/10
Our second entry is another Delving mount that is a piece of cake to obtain, as Brann Bronzebeard is giving them away like a short Scottish Oprah. Our Season 3 Delve nemesis is none other than Nexus Princess Kyveza, and the very short quest that sets up our eventual clash rewards you with the latest customizable flying contraption.
The Ethereal-based options are neat, but I’ll take off just a point for a slightly disappointing overall similarity to the Delve mounts from Season 1 (Delver’s Dirigible) and Season 2 (Delver’s Gob-Trotter).

Difficulty: 1.5/10 Awesomeness: 6.5/10
This enormous bird will only require a bit more Phase Diving leg work than the acidic creeper. You’ll need ten Untethered Coins to saddle up on a plum-feathered avian, meaning at least two weeks completing the More Than Just a Phase weekly quest. Since the quest is neither difficult nor overly time-consuming, you should be able to pick this one up early on in your adventuring across K’aresh. There are two other K’arroc mounts, and while this one isn’t my favorite, it does feel very appropriate for flitting around a purple desert wasteland.

Difficulty: 2.5/10 Awesomeness: 6.5/10
We were able to collect several Krolusk mounts back in Battle for Azeroth, but this pure white version looks quite stunning. I also love when tidbits of lore can be found in the text description of in-game items like mounts. These creatures were introduced as an invasive species to K’aresh? I have many questions!
Whatever the method of interdimensional travel these spiky bugs used to arrive on the sands of K’aresh, you should have a relatively easy time farming this pearlescent subspecies. While Phase Diving just south of the World Boss Reshanor’s hangout, you’ll see Urmag spawn every few minutes and trundle around the desert. With a daily loot reset and decent odds at a drop, this Krolusk won’t evade you for long.

Difficulty: 2.5/10 Awesomeness: 5.5/10
In another case of developers recycling unused assets and/or K’aresh being an interdimensional crossroads, there’s one more scavenger mount available in 11.2. This green-tinged devourer is a recolor of two steeds available from Korthia, so if you’re like me and haven’t collected either then you’ll be more driven to add this one to your stable.
You’ve probably seen the devourer’s devourer, Sthaarbs, hanging around at the top of The Oasis while Phase Diving. Once every week, you can use the transporter near Ve’nari’s quest hub to energy-beam your way up to the floating platforms that surround the enormous beholder. With a decent chance that you’ll be able to loot the demon’s last meal, it might take just a few weeks of dedicated hunting before you snag this one.

Difficulty: 3.5/10 Awesomeness: 9/10
To earn this green-and-white insectoid horror, you’ll need to start with some weekly questing and then move on to trying your luck or spending some pocket change. Constable Zo’ardaz stands smack in the center of Tazavesh handing out contract work for aspiring bounty hunters. There are six Warrant quest chains that you’ll need to complete to earn the Vigilante achievement along with the terror mount, and a random one appears on the message board next to the constable each week.
If you’re stuck waiting for the last one or two after several weeks, there’s always the option to drop a sizable chunk of gold on the Auction House for the items that summon these cosmic fugitives. The mount itself is stunningly horrible and I adore it. The other terror sharing the same model can be earned towards the end of the K’aresh Trust renown track, and it’s difficult to decide whether I prefer this dusky green one or the red-orange-purple combo on its hideous cousin.

Difficulty: 4/10 Awesomeness: 4.5/10
Here’s a decently easy-to-obtain devourer mount that will simply require some quick flying and a decently-organized weekly task list. You’ll need to collect 20 Devoured Energy Pods, which drop from the final boss of each of the four Devourer Attack events around K’aresh. All three Eco-domes, plus Tazavesh, are periodically set upon by hungering aberrations. Fending them off can be done once per week for each of the four locations, meaning that your Warband will need at least five weeks to gather enough pods to attract a faithful steed.
Like the other devourer mount, this one is quite awesome on its own yet suffers score reductions for being a palette swap. The previous two gorger mounts can be earned from the marathon Shadowlands dungeon meta and a long quest chain that establishes your slowly building relationship with your eventual mount.

Difficulty: 4.5/10 Awesomeness: 6/10
This is where the difficulty meter starts to ramp up purely on the basis of your luck attribute. You’ll find this chestnut clomper inside the Wriggling Pinnacle Cache, which is the reward for assisting Ve’nari in the Oasis each week. The Ecological Succession feature has been less of a wildly unique experience than I was hoping for, but the rather low drop rate on this creature is offset by the long list of very cute pets you’re likely to earn as the weeks go by. This is a new model and I do like the reddish-brown coloring, although I suppose I was hoping for something slightly more alien from a literal alien animal.

Difficulty: 5/10 Awesomeness: 7/10
We’re near the top end of the “easy” portion on the difficulty meter, as earning this transparent magenta beast of burden will require some patience. While Phase Diving, you may have noticed glowing purple orbs hovering around K’aresh. Collecting these orbs has a chance to gift you with a cosmetic weapon appearance. If you manage to collect all 39 of these transmogs and earn the Phase Lost-and-Found achievement, you’ll be able to mount your Phase-Lost Slateback while in your regular old corporeal form.
You’ll need to gather over 100 of these orbs, so the best strategy is to familiarize yourself with their spawn points near each of the Phase Diving conduits. Each time you use those conduits to fast travel around K’aresh, scout around for a few seconds for an orb or two. The mount itself is cool because it bestows your phase-diving appearance anywhere on Azeroth, but the fact that any mount changes into the Phase-Lost Slateback while Phase Diving once you have progressed your Reshii Wraps to a certain strength takes a little bit off the top of the awesomeness rating.

Difficulty: 5/10 Awesomeness: 7.5/10
It’s hard for me to call this mount “easy to pick up”, but I think it does barely qualify as not being too difficult or time-consuming to add to your collection. Hopefully you have enjoyed whatever time you have spent with Ve’nari in The Oasis so far, because you’ll need to power through just about every daily and weekly quest you can find many times over before you earn the Ecological Stability achievement. With that achievement in your pocket, a short quest is all that stands between you and this impressively orange mega-bird.
