How to unlock and complete the Brewfest Banquet Outdoor Scenario

New to Brewfest in 2025 is the Brewfest Banquet Outdoor Scenario, an interactive event where players have to help acquire supplies, prepare Brewfest consumables and serve them to participants of the scenario. The Banquet uses a “fill the meter” mechanic like the Proscenium or Time Rifts, although the tasks are a lot more structured — you’ll know exactly which of the five potential activities you need to do because you get to actively choose how you want to help.

It’s important to note that the Banquet right now can be problematic to participate in. If there are a lot of players present you may find yourself struggling to find things to do or finding your clicks don’t work most of the time; be patient as the rewards are delivered regardless of how little you participated as long as you completed one task. Once the score maxes out players tend to just stand around waiting for the boss so that’s when it’s easier to participate. You’ll also want to tag the boss when it spawns if you can but it’s not required in order to get rewards (the boss drops nothing).

The scenario is also buggy. I’ve seen the boss spawn with over a minute remaining, and I’ve also completed the event without getting rewards. Hopefully these sporadic issues can be fixed before Brewfest ends this year.

Unlocking the Brewfest Banquet Outdoor Scenario

Participating in the Banquet scenario requires you to complete a short quest chain first; if you arrive at the Brewfest grounds for the first time and the event is ongoing you won’t be able to join in. You’ll need to talk to the organizer standing next to the stage to start the quest — Gorgrum Kegfist outside of Orgrimmar and Gritta Brewstone in Dun Morogh.

The first quest is called Gathering the Grub and it requires you to recover five Brewfest Ingredients stolen by Hozen just outside the Brewfest grounds. Once you’ve collected the ingredients, return them to the Ingredient Wagon at the back of the grounds.

The second quest is Brewmaster’s Kitchen and this is where you’re instructed on how to cook for the Banquet. There are three separate items you’ll prepare:

  • Pretzels are crafted just to the right of the Ingredient Wagon. You’ll need to knead the dough five times, add salt, put it into the oven and then bring it over to the pretzel table next to the stage.
  • Porridge is prepared in the cooking pot just in front of the Ingredient Wagon. You’ll need to stir five times based on the color above the pot (which can be hard to see during the quest so you may just find yourself spamming left or right until it completes) and then bring it to the soup table next to the stage.
  • Brew is probably the trickiest of items to complete. First you smash five times with an overly generous targeting circle, then you fire up the oven by spamming 1 repeatedly — this one can be a struggle if others are present — and then you get to the Hops. The Hops is causing a lot of issues for players because it uses the Empowered Spell Input setting and if you’re not familiar with it from playing Evoker it may seem broken. The default is to Hold and Release; press the button that is lit up and hold it until it reaches the yellow segment, then release. The other possible setting is Press and Tap and for this you simply have to click once to start the meter and click again when the cursor has reached the yellow segment. This setting can be changed in the Gameplay > Controls > Combat section of your Options. Once you’ve overcome the Hops you simply run over to the keg on the stage to deposit your brew.

The third quest is Serving with Style. You’ll speak to a Brewfest Reveler nearby who will ask you to get her a pretzel. Simply pick one up from the nearby table and serve it to her.

And that’s it! Once you’ve completed the quest chain you’ll be able to participate in the Brewfest Banquet Outdoor Scenario. Note that if you’re needing Brewfest Prize Tokens to collect the new items you’ll get 55 from doing these quests.

It’s time to cook: Completing the Brewfest Banquet Outdoor Scenario

The Brewfest Banquet Outdoor Scenario kicks off every hour on the hour and lasts for roughly six minutes after which time the boss Keggor the Fermented spawns. Once it starts you’ll want to speak with Gorgrum or Gritta to choose which of the three tasks you wish to do: recover resources, cook food or serve food to revelers. If you change your mind as to what you want to do just speak with them again and make a new selection.

The tasks themselves are exactly the same as what you did in the introductory quest chain; there are no changes in preparing pretzels or recovering ingredients. Note that there is a workflow that goes Recover -> Cook -> Serve just like the quest chain so if you choose to cook or serve you may find yourself waiting a short time for ingredients or food to work with, but don’t fret — recovering ingredients is an exceedingly popular choice and before you know it the Ingredient Wagon will be overflowing.

One slight variation from the quest chain is that you can choose to cook just one of items — if you hate making the brew you can choose to grab the pretzel or porridge ingredients instead. You also don’t need to deliver the completed food item right away; you can prepare several of them and then deliver them all at once (although servers might get impatient waiting for dishes to serve) although you should probably stick to only one type of item otherwise the extra action button to deliver can get confused.

Regardless of whether or not you’ve filled the event meter Keggor will spawn at the end. The boss actually does some hefty AOE damage so players should watch where they’re standing especially if lag starts to kick in. Once down the reward bags will be delivered right to your inventory.

All the rewards you can get from the Brewfest Banquet Outdoor Scenario

You can earn up to three different rarity Bags of Brewfest Merchandise during each banquet, with a new Bag earned for every 2500 Brew Points generated during the event up to the max of 7500. You won’t actually get the Bags until the event completes so you’ll want to stick around to kill Keggor even after 7500 is reached.

Each daily reset the first time you earn the uncommon Bag of Brewfest Merchandise you are guaranteed 15 Brewfest Prize Tokens, and the first rare Bag of Brewfest Merchandise is guaranteed to have one of the uncommon bind-on-pickup transmog Brewer’s armors (available in Blue and Basic aka Brown) until you’ve collected all eight pieces. You don’t have to run alts through the event — especially since each character has to do the introductory quests — but if you want to quickly collect the armors you can do so.

The eight pieces are:

The epic Bag of Brewfest Merchandise can contain one of five Dark Iron BOEs matching the Dark Iron’s Ceremonial Collection in addition to a small chance of having Brewfest Prize Tokens or one of the Brewer’s armor pieces. As BOEs you can also find them on the Auction House, but since there’s a fair chance to get one you should probably wait until you’ve gotten all the other rewards before buying them.

The items are:

The Brewfest Banquet Outdoor Scenario is a lot of fun when it’s running smoothly, although being limited to only five tasks you can perform while participating may cause players to get bored with it sooner rather than later — but with Brewfest only lasting a few weeks that’s not as big a deal as it would be for a permanent event. The structure makes the Banquet a lot less hectic compared to the Soup scenario in Iskaara or Time Rifts so some players may appreciate that. The rewards are a nice extension of the new ones purchased with Tokens and most importantly can be worn all year long!
