When is player housing coming to World of Warcraft? Blizzard has confirmed we’ll be laying out our welcome mats on December 2 (with a Midnight pre-order)

Everyone in the World of Warcraft community has been dying to know when player housing is coming to the game since Ion first slipped in a teaser trailer during the end of his segment at the Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct. Now we know we’ll be getting early access to Player Housing starting on December 2, 2025.

Housing will arrive in patch 11.2.7 if you’ve pre-ordered Midnight, with full access arriving with the full launch of World of Warcraft: Midnight in 2026. (Note that housing is an expansion feature, so you will have to buy Midnight to get your own house.)

Players were quick to make note of player housing early access on the feature list when Blizzard opened up Midnight preorders at Gamescom 2025, which includes the following details:

• Housing Early Access expected to be available during The War Within 11.2.7 content update.
• All editions of World of Warcraft: Midnight include early access to the new Housing feature. Owners of any Midnight edition will receive an email notification when Housing early access begins.
• Housing is a feature in active development. With Housing Early Access, you’ll get a special preview of the new feature — explore, customize, and decorate with a limited selection before an expanded suite of options arrives with the launch of the expansion.

This aligns with estimates based on the housing icon on the 2025 WoW roadmap, which placed the feature ahead of the expansion launch. Since then, the ongoing updates on player housing from the Dev Team (not to mention the content creator previews!) have continued to fuel mass curiosity, but it looks like we’re closing in on a release date.

Patch 11.2.7’s early access will give players a warmup window; it’s still a bit of a frustration to wait for such a desired feature, especially when they say it will be available “during” 11.2.7 and not with it. Still, if our calculations are correct, player housing will arrive in World of Warcraft on December 2, 2025.
