All of the housing decor you can craft with professions in Midnight (that we’ve found so far)

Player Housing is coming in Midnight, and with it the chance to collect decor to adorn your new home. Decor is found all over the world: from vendors, from achievements, and from dungeon drops, but a great deal of it is crafted by professions. And we’ve gone hunting for all of the new crafted decor in the Midnight alpha.

Recipes can be found for every crafting profession in most expansions, which is good news players who have put a lot of time into professions over the years but perhaps not so good news for players who haven’t, and may need to do a lot of leveling to make decor. And if you’re interested in crafting decor, you may also be interested in crafting dyes, which is currently only available to Alchemy and Inscription.

Though more recipes may be coming from other sources, so far I have only seen recipes on expansion-specific profession trainers. I haven’t seen any recipes on vendors or available for reputation. And there are a few places in game where I haven’t found any decor recipes at all, including the entirety of Warlords of Draenor, where I checked trainers, vendors, and professions buildings in your Garrison without finding a single decor crafting recipe. You will also notice that there are no Midnight-level crafting recipes listed here, either, because I haven’t found any Midnight profession trainers yet. When these are added to the alpha, I’ll be sure to add their recipes to the list.

Remember! All of the information below comes from the Midnight alpha test. It’s early information and all of this could change. Don’t make any life-changing decisions based on this information, Okay? Okay. Let’s take a look at all of the craftable decor we’ve found in Midnight (so far).

A note on profession crafting materials

In addition to expansion-specific materials, all Midnight decor crafting requires lumber. Yes, even crafted items that have no reason to include lumber, like rugs, plushies, and lobster platters. (I’m particularly worried about the lobster platters.) Like the filament in a 3d printer, you need it for everything — or at least almost everything, as Midnight-level crafting decor items don’t appear to be fully implemented, and do not include lumber. I believe this to be a result of professions not being fully fleshed out at Midnight levels, and not a sign that lumber is gone before it even got here, but I’ll update this post if that changes.

There’s a different type of lumber for each expansion, which you can harvest from any zone in that expansion. Collecting Lumber does not require any profession: you’ll get an axe from an NPC in your neighborhood that will allow you to see and harvest lumber in zones throughout the game.

Though some of the recipes below require a lot of it, Lumber seems plentiful and can be found in quantity anywhere there are trees. In fact, it’s almost certainly the easiest material on these lists to find, which include uncommon and rare items which will take time to collect or be expensive to buy — but again, I wouldn’t start buying up materials, because this could change.
