The Queue: Put some vines on it

One thing I’m very much enjoying as I play with Player Housing is how many things you really hate can be obscured with relative ease. Put a tree here, a boulder there, and vines literally everywhere, and there you have it! Whatever “it” is in this context — even a jump puzzle.

This is The Queue, our daily column where you ask us questions and we cover the answer with foliage so you can’t really see how bad it is.

AMBULANCE ROBOTS

Do we think we’ll see the Night/Blood Elf exteriors for Housing this week in Beta?

We are two weeks from Housing early access, and there are no signs of them yet. Seems a bit… skin of our teeth, here.

Also, selfishly, it’s hard to fully plan my exterior if I don’t know my options. XD I need my Night Elf exteriors, Blizzard.

I’m not expecting them until after Early Access, honestly. I figure if I set my expectations relatively low, then I won’t be as disappointed if it doesn’t come to pass, anyway.

Outside, the stuff I want to add for my garden won’t change too much. You can do so much with dyes and other various elements that anything I add can be coordinated to the exterior immediately, and my taste in exteriors won’t change much based on the type of house I have. There isn’t a ton to plan beyond getting foliage, a campfire, some lawn chairs, lots of florals. The exact styling may change, but most of them will work. I think the plot I manage to snag will likely be a bigger deal, just in terms of tree positions and fencing and such. I like my outside to be very leafy, and less about building and structures.

Though, yeah, if I have to have one of those utterly uggo Orc huts I’m gonna barf. But that’s a problem for “Player Housing Early Access has begun”-era Anna. I’ll probably just cover it with vines until I can get my Blood Elf exterior.

KALCHEUS

Q4tQ Do you think World Bosses should count for the Infinite Research assignments that require a boss kill?

This might be a weird answer but I think everything that could count for something should. I’m at a very much ‘rule of cool’ point in my gaming career.

MOVEWOW

Q4TQ: Have you ever been browsing the games on the Steam store and it shows that you own a game that you could never imagine yourself buying? Today I saw that I’m the proud owner of Dota 2. What the heck! lol

Nine times out of ten, if there’s something I don’t remember buying and it’s a mystery as to why I would even purchase it, it’s because I have a Steam Family with my husband and his taste in games is, let’s say, somewhat divergent from my own. And as many times as he bought various Civ entries, I’m sure he’s flummoxed by my plethora of weird cozy titles and Amnesias.

Funnily enough, the ones that really bug me are the ones we bought twice, and I’m like… bro, why. I purchased Vein during the last Steam sale and then like 5 hours later, he also purchased it. Our friend Brian also purchased it, so I think that either they were planning on it, or Brian saw me purchase it and goaded my husband into it, or they thought all three of us could play together — you need multiple licenses in that case. But also it’s a rough early access survival sandbox. Just ping me on Signal if I’m already playing, and you two weirdos can go trick out a camper van or whatever.

Though I will admit there are some smaller cute indies I bought and promptly forgot about. I bought Wobbledogs during some Steam sale sometime, and completely forgot about it. Sorry, Wobbledogs.
