The Queue: Doom!

DOOM and Diablo are a match made in… well, not heaven, somewhere hotter.

This makes the most sense for a Diablo crossover ever and I love seeing my Barbarian spinning around with the cool DOOM weapons. I’d love it even more if the armor and Cacodemon pet weren’t as expensive as they were, but at least I got the cool DOOM shield for when I make my Paladin in Lord of Hatred.

I’m not the biggest fan of crossing IP over in games like Diablo and Destiny. Games with an actual story shouldn’t randomly have other universes dropped into them. Although the DOOM gear fits extremely well into the aesthetic that Diablo 4 has got going on, so I’d likely not even notice if I showed up a year from now and saw a player in the gear. It makes more sense than StarCraft crossovers do!

While I go and collect more DOOM: The Dark Ages Currency to be able to afford the cool town portal, it’s time for our daily question and answer column — The Queue!

Of course it is. What else is all of the raiding and high keys for if not collecting the shiniest looks for your gear? Remember that I’m the guy who has always advocated for Druids being fully kitted out, even if they spend 99% of their time in Cat or Bear forms. How can you expect people to take you seriously in your role as a player if you don’t look suitably good? No clown suits allowed!

There must’ve been more pressing matters at hand than worrying about a statue. That kind of smashing happens near the end of the conquest when you have some green (see what I did there?) Orks who need better target practice with their artillery.

Arthonos says: I think I figured it out: you need to select the ‘Trial of Style’ appearance slot BEFORE you zone into the event. Otherwise, you are locked into whatever you were wearing when you zoned in.

Thanks, Arthonos, for answering your own question and saving me some time! This is one of those things that will probably be fixed before the next Trial of Style. Sadly, with the big system overhaul, it just got overlooked, and now people are having a bad time.

Look, the less said about the Pacific division, the better. The Oilers look like they’ll take a playoff spot, but it really doesn’t feel like they deserve it this year. We haven’t won more than three games in a row! We traded our main goalie and got a goalie that was as good as, if not a little worse, out of the deal. So maybe they’ll lock in for the playoffs, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a second round exit and a lot of angry Oilers fans.

I’d always do food. Maybe not the best food, but still get a food buff. Flasks, though, those are only for M+ and Raiding. I guess the ?? challenge out of Delves would be a worthy use for it, too. They’re too expensive, and if my margins are that thin that a flask makes or breaks the run, I have other things I could be improving that would be a better boost.

If I’m not getting the big fancy Mythic gear, I’d say my gearing is done when I can’t get any more upgrades easily. If the character is just meant for doing World Quests, then it probably only needs WQ gear and maybe the occasional Heroic piece upgrade from the weekly quests.

It can’t be quantified really, it’s just I’m done when I’m done. But thanks to those weekly quests and LFR, it’s pretty easy to get extra gear I wouldn’t have before. Unfortunately, the answer is entirely vibes-based, and I know it when it happens.

Today, Bacardi is doing his best cushion impression. If I had a black fuzzy pillow on my couch, I wouldn’t be able to tell them apart. Really, he’s just practicing for his eventual inclusion in the Prey system as the ultra nightmare target. He’ll be unstoppable because nobody could say no to that face.
