There I was, minding my own business in the mid-afternoon. Suddenly, it was hours later. I couldn’t remember anything that happened in between, but my fingers ached and my head was swimming. Ordinarily I would try to make sense of it, but since it was a big announcement day I just popped a couple ibuprofen and kept on typing.

This is The Queue, and most of the Qs that need As today are unsurprisingly about patch 8.3. We have all the info you need so far about patch 8.3, but sometimes there are even more questions to answer!

The Overwatch Official Cookbook came out today! I got my grubby hands on a copy, and so tomorrow night over on the Blizzard Watch Twitch channel we’re doing our first cooking stream. It’s packed with tiny lore tidbits, ranging from small details to bigger confirmations. It confirms in print that Jack Morrison had an ex-boyfriend, for instance — they weren’t just “gal pals.” We knew that via context clues, but it wasn’t explicitly stated beyond a head writer’s Twitter account. It also adds in a few small details of the universe that seem pretty irrelevant but are still fun and add some flavor to the universe — Torbjorn’s wife makes a killer apple pie, and is also a chemical engineer. Wait, that makes her a strong contender for Hero 32! I’m going to have to rethink this…

Now I need to clean my kitchen, so while I avoid doing that here’s a Queue.

I hope you have a great Patchmas! I have my auction house mods ready to list all kinds of herbs, and I’m super excited for my worgen’s new face. I will say that I’m a little sad, because I felt like the “first day with all these teeth” smile really suited the personality of my pet-taming Druid. After all, that was literally the story we played through in Gilneas. But it’s been a bit. She’s probably used to them now.

I asked for questions over on Twitter yesterday evening, hoping that I’d get a couple, turn in The Queue early, and get to bed. Of course, dozens of people then had questions so I’m sitting here typing and researching frantically with 20 minutes until the deadline. Just another day behind the scenes at Blizzard Watch. Hey, maybe I will have something to say in that $10 Patreon tier Behind The Scenes Podcast I’m supposed to be hosting. Huh.

It looks like the Queue is all about Druids this week, so who am I to buck the trend? Let’s get to Queueing!

I’ve wanted this butterfly for a super long time, so it’s only natural I start off The Queue today with an image of it. Look at that wingspan. Just glorious.

Since WoW Classic launched, all the servers -- and PVP realms in particular -- have been plagued with outlandishly long queues.

Did you ever wait for something for so long, the waiting made it so whatever you were waiting for couldn’t possibly measure up? The anticipation was almost better, almost more fun, than the thing you ultimately ended up with? Where — even if you weren’t excited to begin with — the period you spent waiting meant you just built up the experience in your head so that the reality ended up falling flat?
