Perhaps it never should have been a kingdom at all. These days, the only time anyone hears the word Alterac is in reference to a snowy valley, rich with resources and the sounds of constant combat.

Back during the Cataclysm revamp, one zone I really felt like needed a lot more than it got was the Arathi Highlands.

Arathi was essentially the cornerstone for human history on Azeroth as we know it today. It was responsible for one of Azeroth's most well-known, beloved heroes, and for some, it remains a haunting reminder of an empire lost to time.
