Breakfast Topic: How often do you transmog?

I love transmogrification — I think it’s one of the best side features Blizzard has introduced in World of Warcraft. This may be because I remember with vivid and horrifying clarity what it was like to level through Burning Crusade‘s cavalcade of clown suits. It may also be because I remember what it was like to pick up gear back in vanilla before the dressing room was added to the game in patch 1.7. You think Burning Crusade was bad? Try buying a piece of gear off the Auction House absolutely blind. It was a fashion adventure, more often than not with disastrous results.

So I appreciate the ability to make my character aesthetically pleasing, in whatever way I happen to choose. While my Blood Elf Rogue liked to change outfits at the drop of a hat and a moment’s notice, for my Troll I pretty much stuck to just one look for the entirety of Warlords of Draenor, once I’d gotten all the pieces necessary to round it out. As for my Human Hunter on the leveling stream, I managed to cobble together a nice looking (read: appropriately sassy) mail outfit without breaking my bank entirely, but it’s doubtful I’ll swap it out very much while we continue our journey on the leveling stream — it’s just too expensive to do on a regular basis while leveling.

Which kind of defeats the purpose of avoiding that whole clown-suit issue you run into while you’re leveling, really.

But I’m curious, because how often I change a transmog seems to be dependent on which character I’m playing at the time: How often do you guys use the transmog feature? How often are you swapping out outfits or looks? Do you have several different sets of armor that you like swapping around, or do you have just one set — that one combination that looks so good, you never want to change it? Do you think you’ll use it more when the new iteration of transmog comes into play in Legion, or is it a feature you just aren’t all that interested in?
