You didn’t get an Overwatch beta key; those emails are a scam
Let’s just have a moment of brutal honesty here on Blizzard Watch: you didn’t get an Overwatch beta invite. The people that got in on this first round are few and far between — so few that while a few of them are probably reading this, they’re likely 0.0008% of everyone. Sorry to the other 99.9992%, but you’re not in. Why is this brutal honesty needed? Because email scams are flying around like crazy right now.
There are no Overwatch beta keys and so no links to click to get them. Blizzard has done away with that 2004 technology. Now there’s only account flagging and everything is done internally on Blizzard’s end. Overwatch’s official Twitter even piped up this morning:
[BETA] Overwatch beta "keys" do not exist. Please be cautious of any emails, websites, or individuals that claim to offer them!
— Overwatch (@PlayOverwatch) October 27, 2015
What can you do? Don’t click any link in any email. Only pay attention to your official Battle.net account page and launcher. One day you’ll be playing Overwatch, but it won’t come from the friendly people running [email protected].
