The Queue: It’s so fluffy
Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!
The new sheep models in Legion are ridiculously, adorably fluffy and sweet. Please don’t ask where this particular sheep is located. It…it’s better if you don’t know, really.
Q4Q: Warcraft Visual Guide: Updated – is it a second edition with additional information? How does it differ from original?
It is! It’s been updated and expanded a bit. The first edition left off mid-Mists of Pandaria, and this one brings everything up to date. It looks like you can apparently preorder it on Amazon now, with a release date of May 3. For those wondering just what the Ultimate Visual Guide is all about — it’s a basic lore primer accompanied by loads of gorgeous art. If you’ve never really gotten into Warcraft lore before, but want to stick your toe in, the Ultimate Visual Guide is a good place to start for the basics. If you’re already super familiar with the lore and looking for new information or unreleased lore, you aren’t going to find it here (and you should probably go pre-order World of Warcraft: Chronicle Vol. 1!).
What is a Void Lord? Not the minions that warlocks summon, but these big-bads that seem to be demon-like but not demons? If we had any in game lore, I’m sure I mixed them up with warlock demons. Do we have more info (or a KYL) about them?
Okay so to clarify, at the time of writing this post, I have yet to crack into my copy of Chronicle. So this answer may change over the weekend. But for now, here’s what we know — the one Void Lord (or Void God if you want to call it that) we’ve seen origins for was Entropius in Sunwell Plateau. Before he transformed, he was the naaru M’uru. Now we don’t know if that’s the case for all Void Lords (and as I said, I may change my tune considerably after I’m done reading said book), but that’s what we have evidence for right now.
And we’ll write a KYL about that at some point. For right now though, I did write a KYL discussing the Light and the Void, although it’s a tinfoil hat, so it does contain a lot of speculation.
Q4TQ: Looking at all the cool Feral/Guardian Artifact forms coming in Legion, I can’t help but wonder how Blizzard is going to put the genie back in the bottle in the subsequent xpac. There’s going to be a ton of very disappointed/upset/ragequitting druids when they can no longer be in Owlcat form. Do you think Blizzard will end up putting in a glyph or similar that allows players to use Artifact forms?
I’m guessing if people are really keen on the way Artifacts are presented, or the cosmetic effects that Artifacts grant you, Blizzard will find some way to roll it forward so people can keep using them. The Feral forms are pretty amazing — and a lot of the cosmetic weapons are really cool too. We’ll have to wait and see on that front.
Q4tq Has there been any word on increased number of characters per account in Legion? Not SERVER, as we know we are getting another slot per realm for our DH’s like we did with the monk, but the 50 per bnet account limit itself.
Not a word! I highly doubt they’re going to increase the amount of characters you can have on a single account, though. If you want more than 50, buying another license to stick on your Battle.net account will give you another 50 to work with. And since it’s all under the same Battle.net account, it means all account-wide stuff is available to all your characters.
I thought they were going to fix the fist weapon animations? Otherwise my Elemental Shaman will never see her weapon, right? (I don’t know that I’ve ever actually used a fist weapon before)
I don’t know about the animations, but I’ve been playing an Elemental Shaman a lot on the alpha. While there was a period of time in which her weapon wasn’t visible while she was casting, that’s since been fixed. Her fist weapon and shield are both clearly visible now, and very pretty. So you don’t have to worry about seeing your weapon on your Shaman — they wouldn’t give you an amazing, cool looking weapon without allowing you to actually see it.
Q4tQ: Would you play a World of Warcraft that no longer had Addon support?
You know, I had to think about this for a while. At first my answer was a resounding no, because I do use several addons on my main account — the RP addons alone are something I wouldn’t want to see go away, but the inventory addons have also been lifesavers. On the other hand, I’m currently playing with no addons on the alpha right now, and it’s not what I’d call unplayable. Are the bars and nameplates exactly how I’d like them to be? No. But does it really matter, other than not being as visually simplistic as I’d prefer them to be? …not as much as I thought it would.
I’d still hate to see my roleplaying addons disappear, though. If they added some kind of in-game functionality for that, something that was only enabled on RP servers, that would be pretty cool. I don’t think they’d ever do it, but it’d be pretty cool.
