Breakfast Topic: Why even cheat?
Last night Blizzard announced that another team of Heroes of the Storm players were disqualified from the Heroes of the Dorm tournament because they were caught account sharing. That’s where players let another person use their account, pretend they’re them, and basically engage in cheating during matches.
What I don’t really understand is why people decide to partake this path. It’s obvious that Blizzard catches cheaters, and they clearly have a robust system to do so. This isn’t the first time they’ve caught people cheating in relation to their tournaments, and it won’t be the last. When money is on the line cheating becomes a whole different thing; it’s frankly tantamount to fraud and that’s a whole ‘nother area.
So I ask you this, dear reader — why even cheat? What possible good could come from cheating at a game when the makers of the game are in such close proximity to you.
