The Queue: The most adorable scientist ever
Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!
I think I’ve watched Recall at least a dozen times since it came out on Monday, partially because it was very good, but mostly because little Winston is absolutely adorable and I can’t wait to get the Baby Winston pet in WoW. Oh, and at least a little because I’m still trying to sort out who all those as-yet unnamed heroes are. But mostly for Winston. Because he’s the best.
With the gold missions in our garrisons being switched to resource missions; does this mean garrison resources or ore, herbs, fish and fur? Also, will the Treasure Hunter trait be switched to Resource Hunter?
We don’t actually know any of that just yet — I believe last time anyone checked, garrisons were pretty broken on the alpha servers (not that anyone is spending a lot of time on Draenor anyway). I’m going to assume they mean Garrison Resources, because you constantly use those to upgrade your garrison — something that people leveling through Draenor will presumably be interested in doing anyway.
What is this Farahlon place you speak of?
Farahlon was basically what the region known as Netherstorm in Outland used to be, before Draenor bit the big one. It was first mentioned back in Burning Crusade by the high elf Ravandwyr. Kirin’Var Village in Netherstorm was originally built by a group of Kirin Tor wizards who had gone through the Dark Portal after the Second War — it’s mentioned that Kirin’Var village was located in the heart of what used to be the Laughing Skull Clan’s territory. In Warlords, Farahlon was an island to the east of Gorgrond — it was supposed to be a zone at one point, added in a later patch, but the idea was scrapped.
I just had an epiphany.
No matter how much gold I get, I’ll still feel like the average price stuff I want from the BMAH is too high to justify, and thus won’t buy it.
What am I saving up for
I know this wasn’t really a question, but I kind of felt like highlighting this because I just came to the same epiphany myself a few weeks ago. Now I’m actively stalking the Auction House and snapping up mounts I don’t already have. Sure, it might not be the most useful application of gold, but really, I have to spend it on something eventually, right? I’d forgotten that stockpiling is all well and good, but spending is fun, too.
Question for the Queue: I’ve read scary things about DPS self-healing (and rezzing allies) disappearing in Legion. I’m not very good at survival on any of my classes, and rely heavily on getting off whatever heals I can to stay alive that little bit longer (when I can remember that I have Panic Healing buttons available). In the case of my druids, the free Healing Touch I get from my combo points also proc Bloodtalons. What exactly is the state of play regarding self-healing at the moment? I really don’t want to have to rely on having a healer with me to get anything done.
Although the option to resurrect allies was removed from some classes for a little while in the alpha, it’s since been added back again — so you can breathe a sigh of relief on that front. As for self-healing, I haven’t really noticed it being too bad, honestly. It’s easy enough to survive on the Broken Isles as long as you don’t go hog wild and pull a dozen things at the same time. You definitely don’t need a healer with you to get things done.
Leveling areas are “adjustable”, do u think this will pose ganking/camping issues on PvP servers due to phasing?
No more than there already is on live servers, I imagine. PVE mobs scale to whatever level you happen to be at the time — if you’re a level 100 character in Val’Sharah, you’re going to see mobs at level 100 or so. If you’re at level 107, you’re going to see mobs at level 107. How players interact as far as world PVP goes isn’t something I’ve seen just yet, though — I don’t know if you scale to your fellow player out there in the world, or if something else will be in play, but I sincerely doubt Blizzard is going to make it any more difficult to level on a PVP server than it already is.
I do NOT pvp at all, but if I do the battle grounds this weekend can anyone tell me if I would be able to use honor points earned to get this Glaive – “Wild Combatant’s Slicer” and then mogg it . I thought I had seen that PVP items cannot be mogged ? again, I have not done any PVP before. Thanks
The only PVP items that can’t be used for transmog are the vanilla-era PVP sets — you have to have the appropriate rank to use them. Everything else is pretty much up for grabs, so farm away! You shouldn’t have any issues using it for transmog.
