The Queue: Bricks are heavy

Ever get sad for no real reason?

This is the Queue. We talk about Blizzard games. I’m listening to L7’s Pretend We’re Dead and thinking about the first time I heard it, at a club in Providence named The Living Room. It’s not there anymore. But we’re still here, so let’s do the Queue.

I will never ever get tired of typing that.

I’m torn between having old world content scale with your level.

On one hand, you could just stay in the old world to do your leveling. Finish quests and see entire zones before moving on.

On the other hand, you would never have to level in a new expansions content unless you choose to.

While that’s fine from a player perspective, that’s a lot of work from the developer that people might choose to ignore entirely.

/Shrug…who knows..

We already let people skip to level 100 by buying a character boost or a new expansion. That means they’ve skipped everything. I say, if people can actually level to 100 just in Azeroth (even with scaling, I don’t know if there’s enough content there to do that) then let them.

I feel this way about class/race combos (Worgen Paladins! Gnome Druids! Tauren Rogues! Even Draenei Warlocks even though I have a huge lore problem with it!

Sort of a followup to a question Alex answered the other day, regarding professions and Blood of Sargeras:

It’s clear that they’re going to be BoP and a pain to get hold of without a gathering profession. My main has Enchanting and Tailoring (as befitting a mage), neither of which require a gathering profession – do I need to drop one of them and pick up an unrelated gathering profession just because?

The last I heard, you’ll be able to get Blood of Sargeras from ‘other sources’ — I assume world questing or some other mechanic will allow you to gain them. Hopefully the drop rate from these will be worthwhile.

Q4TQ: So has SMF been completely removed from Fury Warriors in Legion?

As of right now, Fury can still use two 1h weapons, in that it can equip them. But many abilities require the use of 2 2h weapons, and while Titan’s Grip is still in the spellbook, Single-Minded Fury is not. So my cautious report to you is that it is functionally dead. It may not actually have been removed (Wowhead still lists it as existing in Legion) but you certainly won’t get much out of a SMF playstyle, with several abilities not even working if you try it., and the Artifacts being 2h weapons.

Are any of your characters supposed to be the same as another one of your characters? Like two versions of the same person?

My leveling stream DK is my Monk after she died.

I have three level 100 Draenei Warriors.  Two of them are the same guy, one’s the nephew of that guy.

My Tauren Warrior had an accident in the Caverns of Time and accidentally altered his own timeline so that there’s a Paladin version of him. There’s also another, lower level Tauren Warrior on another server who is him as well, basically the adventures of my max level Tauren when he was young.

And one of my Forsaken is my original Human Warrior after he died.

Q4TQ: coming off my Warcraft movie high because I loved it – and now I want to fund someone, whether Duncan Jones, the Blizzard team, or ILM’s team or a combination of all 3, to remake Blizzard’s Patch Trailers for Warcraft using the Warcraft movie’s visual and special effects. I want a live action Ulduae trailer! Or the Lich King cinematic??? I can’t be the only one wanting this to happen! Even a fan made live action trailer! Has anyone else felt this way?

Considering that Karazhan is actually in the movie, I’d be cool with a Karazhan movie using Warcraft art assets.

Q4tQueuvians: How do you make the new wardrobe work? I hopped on the PTR last night, all excited to start mixing and matching, but then discovered that while I could see all the things, not matter how much I right-clicked, I could not actually transmog to them until I went to my transmoggy guy in my garrison. Seems pretty silly to be able to see the stuff, but not use the stuff.

Hop on your Grand Expedition Yak or go to the Transmog vendors in Stormwind or the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. (There might be one in Ashran, I forget.) You can look at your collection anywhere, but you can only mog at a Transmog vendor.

And that’s the Queue for today. Ask Anne lots of questions please, and I’ll see y’all Tuesday.
