The Queue: Magni wore it better

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

This Lunarfall Rifleman figured he’d pull a Magni Bronzebeard and try to commune with Draenor. Although the plan backfired, rather than encasing the poor Dwarf in crystal, Draenor settled for sending a mountain to eat his foot.

JALAMENOS ASKED:

So we have higher resolution versions of wolves, elekk and tigers as easily accessible mounts now, what other of the original racial mounts would you like to see being available? (I don’t count the racial PvP mounts as easily accessible).

I wouldn’t mind seeing a souped-up high res version of the mechanostrider. I bet they could make that look pretty amazing. Honestly, I’d like to see all the old mount models get a retouch — the original wolves look pretty scraggly standing next to their Draenor counterparts. Seeing some new horses would be nice. And I bet they could come up with a pretty horrifying revamp of the skeletal horses, while they were at it.

VALENCEMAGI ASKED:

Qs4tQ:  Why did not Azshara not try to hook up with the Nightborne?  They seem to be, for all intents, just Highborne but with their only little mini WoE.  Seems to me that would be right up Azshara’s alley.

They were Highborne at one point — but like the Shen’dralar, they weren’t exactly keen on that whole “hey let’s remake the world” plan Azshara had going on, especially since that plan included bringing out the Burning Legion to play havoc with the rest of the kal’dorei. We don’t know if they were ever contacted by Azshara, but given the fact that they made their disloyalty perfectly clear when they up and disappeared, it isn’t likely she’d go back to them to try and make friends, particularly after her watery makeover.

TENAVERAN ASKED:

If you’re a story addict, how will the differing artifact storylines work? Like if I want to level my shaman as Resto, do I miss all the awesomeness involved in the Doomhammer artifact quest? Or do I get to do that Doomhammer content when the game offers me my second artifact? Basically do we miss out on great story if we don’t have a level 100 of every single spec?

You’ll be able to complete the quests for the additional Artifact weapons — they unlock at level 102.

PFUZZYBUNNY ASKED:

Correct me if I am wrong Beta testers, but if we who pre-ordered Legion get our DHs at least a week before launch wouldn’t we have a problem with the DHs because you should end up being told to go your Class Hall at end of the DH starting quest line, and that Class Hall won’t be active until Legion actually launches?

Nope! That quest chain has been changed — now you head to Orgrimmar or Stormwind instead at the end of it. You’ll play through the Legion opening event stuff the same as everyone else, and when Legion launches, that’s when you’ll head to your class hall.

ADVNTRGUY ASKED:

I definitely want to help out by using a sponsored link to buy the Collectors Edition of Legion. I fully admit I didn’t look for it yet. Impulse post. Is there one? Thanks,

AG

Well thank you! I don’t think we have one up on the site yet, but here is one for the Legion Standard Edition, and if you’re of a mind to get the art book and all the other goodies, here’s a link for the Collector’s Edition as well.

JABRONE77 ASKED:

What if Blizzard moved StarCraft away from a RTS type game and made it more in the vein of Mass Effect? Single player, heavy on story, improved graphics.

I know Blizzard really doesn’t do the single player thing, and they’re really into trying to dominate the e-sport scene, but I could really see playing the hell out of that.

I’m sure people have thought of similar ideas, just came across my mind.

This is the one genre Blizzard hasn’t really jumped in on yet, and I kind of wish we could see something like that at some point. A complete RPG with a beginning, middle, and end, fully plotted out with dialogue trees and everything else. They’ve shown they’ve got the chops to do a shooter, so that really shouldn’t be a problem. But I’d really, really love to see what their story team could do if they were told to write a complete story from beginning to end.

StarCraft could be a good fit for that kind of thing, but honestly the sci-fi shooter angle has been done before with Mass Effect and people would immediately begin making comparisons between the two. I’d like to see a new IP altogether. Or hey, throw something together with Overwatch — a standalone side game heavy on the story. Maybe the story of the Omnic Crisis, or something involving future events. People have been clamoring for more Overwatch, and I think that kind of game could go over very well.
