Breakfast Topic: Wander off the beaten path

I see many players racing to level 110 and I know there are valid reasons for it. Some need to get geared for the upcoming raids. Some just hate leveling. But for those of us taking our time, I highly recommend fully exploring each zone and not just doing the Pillars of Creation questline and bailing on the zone after that.

I’ve made a point of fully exploring Highmountain and have found some wondrous discoveries. I found caves full of kobolds that are a clever riff on the vanilla “You no take candle!” kobolds of Elwynn Forest. I was transformed into Murky from Heroes of the Storm complete with his Heroes ability set and ran a quest utilizing them. I rescued eagle eggs and now have a Skyhorn Nestling eagle pet that follows me on my further adventures on the Broken Isles.

I would have experienced none of this if I had only done the Pillars questline and moved on. Instead I nosed around. Went into caves no one told me to go into. Followed quest markers on my mini map and made sure to explore every part of the zone for fun stuff to do. I highly recommend you do the same with the other leveling zones. You’ll be surprised what Blizzard has tucked away for the curious adventurer.
