The Queue: Selfie Break

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

Look Khadgar, you guys gave me this thing. You even encouraged me to go snap photos all over Azeroth and beyond. And while I realize that yes, sure, there are matters of grave importance to attend to here, I am not leaving this spot until we get the perfect shot. So be a dear and say cheese.

DRAKKENFYRE COMMENTED:

Re: Purple gear. I’m dismayed at the lack of black and purple gear.

Maybe the next time they have a “We’re implementing something we said we’d probably/definitely never do” (like transmog, race changes, faction changes, et al.) moment, they’ll toss in “equipment dyes.” Because I’ve got a ton of gear I like the look of, but not in the colors I want.

Bonus: They can give the initial dye creation to Scribes before they rip it away from them two expansions later.

I know this wasn’t exactly a question, but I wanted to hop in anyway because really, armor dyes are one of a couple of things I’ve wanted to see in the game for as long as I can remember. Giving that whole dye-crafting thing to Inscription would more than make up for the gutting that the Glyph system got. And sure, there would probably be an abnormal amount of people running around in all black gear from head to toe, but being able to customize your character is one of those things that always goes over well.

For the record, the other thing I want to see? Player housing. Wildstar has both of these things.

MARTINLONGPRE ASKED:

Q4tQ : Where the heck is Wrathion? This expansion is what he has been waiting for. Does he just not care anymore? I want some more Anduin-Wrathion action now that he’s king

I actually wrote a Know Your Lore yesterday about that precious little stinker. But I’m assuming he’s around somewhere. He was way, way too invested in this whole situation back in Mists, he’s bound to show up eventually.

TKC882 ASKED:

Q4tQ: with artifact weapons connected to your spec is this making you more of less of an altoholic? Example:  my main is a resto duid and trying to level as resto is slow going.  So I picked up both the balance and feral weapons but I haven’t put any artifact power into them which makes them sub-par.  I’m thinking I’ll be better off just taking my other druids as balance and feral.

More, this time around — and it’s not so much the Artifact weapons as it is the story that plays out alongside them. I want to see all the stories, so I’m kind of invested in at least getting one of each class through the Artifact quests just so I can experience them. I don’t expect to actually get that done in the next few weeks or anything, but I feel like the task of doing so is going to keep me busy all the way through however long the Legion expansion is going to last.

CHUZZ ASKED:

Post-Legion, do we know if Survival Hunters can dual-wield? Wondering if I can farm Warglaives of Azzinoth on my hunter.

Unfortunately, the Warglaives of Azzinoth are restricted by class. Hunters were never able to use them — originally they were available only to Warriors and Rogues. Death Knights were added to the list in Cataclysm, Monks were added in Mists, and Demon Hunters can now wield them in Legion. So farming them isn’t going to get you anywhere on a Hunter, sorry!

SLYTHWOLF COMMENTED:

I’m not 100% sure you can say anything about a class’s DPS based on what the meters are doing in dungeons right now. I have a guildie who got kicked from a few groups in a row for “botting” because his group mates’ meter addons weren’t reacting accurately to scaling.

Not really a question, but again I wanted to weigh in — I actually got kicked from a group because of DPS meters while I was leveling. Which is…more than a little ridiculous, because I definitely was not dying, I was interrupting where things needed to be interrupted, and I was the last survivor of every wipe we had, and I wasn’t the cause of those wipes. I’m wondering if it was a case of what you’re suggesting here — the person pointing out my “low DPS” was a level 110, I was only level 104 at the time.

I don’t typically use DPS meters outside of raiding (where it actually matters), so I’m hoping maybe we can get some people to pipe up in the comments with their experiences — are DPS meters scaling correctly for you guys? Or is that whole dynamic scaling thing not actually being correctly reflected in addons?

KENPURDIE ASKED:

QFTQ how can I get valarjar rep without the main story line? I’ve looked high And low and found 1 measly quest for 150 rep

You…can’t. Look, the dudes in Valarjar aren’t going to really notice you or pay attention to what you’re doing unless you make your presence known. And they aren’t really going to be especially fond of you unless you do some quests for them and help them out. I’m not sure why you’re asking how to do it outside of the main story line, because the story line is there essentially as an easy method for gaining reputation. By the time you finish the chain, you’ll be honored with them all. Bonus: the quests are really good.
