What’s going on with the Diablo franchise?

We got the BlizzCon schedule this week and, well, if you’re a Diablo fan… it’s mighty thin gruel. Sure, the 20th Anniversary Q&A promises a look at upcoming future content. But looking at the schedule as whole, all Diablo gets is that one panel, a dev talk, and some Darkmoon Faire stuff.

This doesn’t seem like we’re looking at a potential Diablo 4 announcement, or even a Diablo 3 expansion.

Now, I hope I’m wrong. In fact, nothing would make me happier than to be wrong and have Blizzard announce either of those things. I’d be incredibly excited if Blizzard finally gave us new Diablo content considering it’s been quite a while at this point.

But I have to say looking at this year’s Blizzcon I’m not seeing that happening. Perhaps I’m being pessimistic. So I’ll turn to you — do you expect any big Diablo 3 news based on the schedule? And if so, what are you expecting, exactly? A new expansion? A new game? An MMO? (I’m not expecting an MMO, but I’ve been wrong before.) An open world sandbox game? Tell me what you see happening at BlizzCon for Diablo fans.
