What do you love about the games you play?

I will never apologize for loving smashing the heck out of every single thing I can see in Diablo 3. It’s just a beautiful thing, almost magical in its ability to get me past despair or grief or tension. It’s pure fun, and something about it just makes me very, very happy. I could spend a lot of time and words trying to rephrase it, but ultimately it comes down to that word fun again.

At the heart of it, I play games because I have fun playing them. I play games to have fun. There are lots of other reasons to play them, of course. But fun is one of my big ones, and it’s kept me coming back to these franchises over and over again. I love tanking in World of Warcraft because I get a great deal of satisfaction out of managing the chaos and keep ahead of the situation. Once it’s all over, I get this immense sensation of accomplishment even when no one else notices or realizes how much work that went into that successful run.
