The Queue: Incessant pirate gibberish

Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!

I’m pretty sure Tess Greymane speaks for us all, here. Let’s just…get past the gibberish and get right to your questions, shall we?

CHRTH ASKED:

Q4TQ: Why didn’t anyone make a move against the Lich King during the five years he was an Icecrownsicle?

Everyone was just a little busy dealing with the fallout from the Third War. The Lich King wasn’t doing anything, so it was kind of an out-of-sight, out-of-mind situation, I suspect. The Scarlet Crusade actually sent a fleet up to Northrend to look into the situation, but as far as they knew, nobody survived. It wasn’t until Wrath that they discovered that Barean Westwind and the others were still alive up there.

FYRESPARXX ASKED:

Q4tQ: Do you give in-game Christmas presents to your WoW friends?

I have been known to do this on occasion — usually it’s some kind of in-game pet, or an item from the now-defunct WoW TCG. One year I was giving gifts to fellow roleplayers, so I cobbled together items in Gryphonheart Items. When you clicked the items I created, they would play specific music tracks from the game. You have to have Gryphonheart Items in order to create and use items, but we all had the addon installed so it wasn’t an issue.

TIM HARRISON ASKED:

Aren’t Muradin, Sylvannas, Tirion, Jaina, Mograine Jr., and Varian all present at the defeat of the Lich King, and therefore aware of Bolvar?

The only other person present at the Lich King’s defeat was Tirion — he’s in the cutscene up in Icecrown. Everyone else was nearby, but they weren’t actually upstairs when he was defeated. So they heard the news that the Lich King was done, but didn’t necessarily hear the news that Bolvar had taken his place. Tirion may have filled in a few people later, so they understood what had happened, but it wasn’t widely known information.

EZRIANN ASKED:

I got my Warlock to 109, but there’s no quest in her Order Hall for more champions and I don’t see any campaign quests in her log. Does anyone know how I get the next part? I don’t want to be behind when I get to 110.

I don’t play a Warlock so I’m not familiar with their Class Hall quests. I do know that with other Class Hall quests I’ve done, the quest pops up on the person who also hands out the quests for additional Artifact weapons. Because of this, their exclamation point is always orange, which means I can’t tell if they’ve actually got new quests for me, or just the same old “Hey you grabbed the Balance Artifact, how about you go get the Feral one now” quests that are always there. So you might want to check and see if that’s the case for you.

The other thing you may want to check on is your quest log — sometimes if you don’t complete every class campaign quest you have, other ones won’t pop up. And sometimes you forget that the random quests in your log are actually campaign quests, and you need to finish them. And by “you” I mean “me,” because this has happened to me on multiple characters.

…what can I say. I’m scatterbrained.

ENO ASKED:

So what’s Vydhar’s story? Why was he transformed into a tree?

We don’t actually know that one — it hasn’t been explained anywhere. We do know that the Highmountain were the ones who changed him. According to his text in a World Quest, “It was with the aid of the Tauren that my flesh was made wood, my skin made into leaves, and my wisdom made eternal. I shall always remember this, even if my people do not.”

So there’s every indication that the vrykul themselves have no idea why Vydhar became what he is today — he’s just a very wise tree, heart of the Runewood, etc. I think it’d be interesting to see his story at some point in the future, though!

That’s it for today’s Queue — if you have any questions you’d like to see answered, be sure to leave them in the comments below!
