The Queue: A study in detail
Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!
Continuing on with the ceiling tour — did you know the Violet Citadel has this crazy ornate wallpaper on the ceiling? For some reason, whoever built the upper balconies decided to wallpaper the ceiling below. It’s been there since Wrath (you can see it in both versions of Dalaran), but I don’t think I’ve ever noticed it until now. I need to make it a point to look up more often!
When did Chromie get voice acting in Eastern Plaguelands (for the Pamela quest chain)? I’ve done those quests several times in the past, and don’t remember Chromie having VA.
Back in patch 6.0.2 — the pre-patch for Warlords of Draenor — Chromie got a new voice. When the new voice was added, they apparently went back and did the voice work for her other quest chains as well.
Q4tQ: Do you have a set team for PvP pet battles or do you just take any 3 random pets and hope for the best?
Okay, so the answer here is no, but that’s because quite honestly until you asked this question, I’d completely forgotten that PVP Pet Battles were a thing. But I think I’d probably do my research here, look around and see what pets were typically performing the best, and either build a team with those, or build a team specifically built to counter those. I mean, if someone on the internet says ‘this is a good team comp,’ it stands to reason a lot of people would be using it, right?
Q4TQ: Which of the playable classes do you feel has the most potential for malevolent behavior?
I think the usual suspects — Death Knights, Demon Hunters, Warlocks, Shadow Priests. They’re all working with dark forces in one form or another, which would logically make them more susceptible to corruption. I think Death Knights top that list, because of the way they operate. Death Knights have almost an addition to causing suffering. They experience pain and agony if they aren’t inflicting death and suffering on regular basis. It’s kind of a job requirement — which makes them the most likely culprits for deeds and behavior we’d consider malevolent.
Night Elves, Draenei, Blood Elves — all races with glowing eyes have pupils. You just can’t see them, because they’re masked by the glow. If you watch the Talador cinematic, you can see Velen’s pupils, and if you watch the Shattrath cinematic, you can see Maraad’s. I don’t think they really see any differently, it’s just…you know, alien magic physiology at work.
Is there going to be a zone on Argus for questing, or is all of Argus going to be through raids?
We don’t actually have an answer for that one yet! All we’ve been told is that we’ll be going to Argus in patch 7.3. Whether that’s a playable area like the Isle of Quel’Danas or the Broken Shore, we don’t know. I’d assume we’d have at least some questing content, but we really won’t know more until the PTR for that particular patch — and 7.2 isn’t even live yet, so we’ve got a bit longer to wait before we’ll see any details on that front.
That’s it for today’s Queue — if you have any questions you’d like to see answered, be sure to leave them in the comments below!
