The Queue: I art that stuff
Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!
I think it’s about that time where I point out once again that I’d really love to see full-blown art prints of all the lovely painting scattered around Azeroth. This collection from Suramar is just beautiful. I mean, it’s not my absolute favorite — that title belongs to the strange painting of whale meat — but I’d gladly hang any of them in my office.
So there is this passage in ‘Shadows of the Horde’ that got me thinking. Taran Zhu told Vol’Jin that ‘the sha are of a similar nature’ to his loa. Does this imply the fact the maybe the loa are *good* remnants of a deceased Titan just as the sha are of an Old God?
I don’t think so — in Chronicle Volume 1, the loa were pretty clearly defined as being Wild Gods. They’re spirits that have been part of Azeroth since it was ordered. The sha are similar in that they’re also spirits, although malevolent ones, that have been around for pretty much the same period of time. There are countless varieties of both, some minor, some incredibly powerful. The big difference is that the loa are primal manifestations of life and nature, whereas the sha are manifestations of negative emotions.
With Ysera’s death in Val’sharah and a “glimpse” of Elune’s actual power at work (in remaking Ysera’s image/spirit into a constellation) I was wondering if there were any other indications of Elune’s power being witnessed on Azeroth?
Oh, plenty! The most noticeable in-game would probably be the cleansing of Avrus Illwhisper, a satyr in search of redemption. You use an item called Elune’s Tear — no relation to the Pillar of Creation — but first, you have to cleanse it in a moonwell. When you do, you’ll hear a voice speak to you. It’s heavily implied that you’re listening to Elune, who instructs you to seek Avrus out. If you haven’t done the quest chain, I highly recommend checking it out.
So here’s the deal — at one point, you could make an awful lot of gold simply by soloing old instances. Gold farmers caught on to this, and would bot their way through repeated instances to farm. The limit was put in place to help combat that — not just because of the botting, but also because the act of so many people firing up instances over and over and over again was putting an undue amount of strain on the instance servers.
The limit was originally five times an hour, but that’s been upped to ten. While you can’t really track it in game, there are addons out there that will help you keep an eye on it — SavedInstances will track that limit, as well as lockouts, bosses looted, World Boss loot, and a variety of other useful information.
As someone who has the hidden appearance, I figured I’d chime in — it fires up almost immediately, once everything is loaded. If you want to be safe, stay put for a second or two while everything loads in. If you haven’t seen the screech indicator by then, you aren’t going to get one. Just make sure you keep using your Dreamwalk teleport on a daily basis, and you should have it eventually!
If I do Hellfire Citadel on mythic, am I also locked out of heroic and normal?
Nope! You can run each difficulty separately, they’re on different lockouts. You can loot each boss once per difficulty. Feel free to farm the Citadel three times a week if you want to!
