The Queue: You no take Candle, Jack!

It’s day 2 of Mitchqueuing and it’s also the release of Antorus’ first LFR wing. Happy Tuesday, folks, I hope it’s a good one! What’s your favorite Tuesday tradition? Mine is reading titles out loud before pondering what they sound like when spoken.

Side note: Lots of controversy in yesterday’s Queue regarding Teldrassil’s burning. I went back and watched the What’s Next panel — Afrasiabi said, “Why are the Horde burning Teldrassil? Why are the Alliance attacking the Undercity? It doesn’t matter who fired the first shot…” Maybe something was said elsewhere by a different dev, but I’m taking Afrasiabi’s word as truth since he’s ultimately the one who makes these calls.

So yeah, lots of room for interpretation with that, especially since “who fired the first shot” could refer to a third party. My bad on that. But at least I have a new article idea!

SALTY BRINE NOTICED THE STEALTH NERF:

Did they just nerf Darkmoon Fair prizes? Last time I could trade them all over to one character, now they’re BoP. I don’t think it’s feasible to get 500 tickets in one week without it, no zep this year now. :(

Yeah, the reward packages are no longer Bind-on-Account and are instead Bind-on-Pickup now. You can always try your luck on those Darkmoon Ticket pouch things from the Black Market Auction House, though!

LOTHARFOX IS CURIOUS ABOUT ANTORUS:

ToS was one of the most difficult raids in a while, especially the last few bosses, causing the Mythic raid teams to take longer than usual before clearing it. Do you think it’ll be the same with the new raid? Or Blizzard’s pendulum will swing the other way, and the Mythic will be cleared in a couple days?

During the Q&A the other week, Ion Hazzikostas actually mentioned that Mythic Tomb of Sargeras was tuned a bit too high on Kil’Jaeden — though he also mentioned KJ was fine on Normal and Heroic — and that the team is aiming to make Antorus a little less punishing toward the tail end of Mythic.

KALCHEUS? MORE LIKE KUREUS! (GET IT? IT SOUNDS LIKE “CURIOUS”):

Q4tQ: The first four Allied Races come from stories/quests in Legion; the next two will come from BFA questing. Do you expect all future Allied Races will come from active content, or do you think Blizzard will allow the possibility of recruiting from older content (for example, heading back to Pandaria to recruit Grummles)?

I think that Allied Races open up a world of possibilities, and given we’re going to see Dark Iron Dwarves in the near future, I wouldn’t discount any races from the list of options. Sure, Blizzard probably wants to focus on their new, good-looking models, but they can’t be silly enough to not realize how popular some pre-existing races would be.

CUTHBERT GOODALL IS JUDGING A BOOK BY ITS VOICE:

QftQ: Any part of the Allied Races you’re a little disappointed with?

For me it’s the Nightborne male voice. He sounds elderly. This may push me to playing the Void Elves, which seem to have the best racials and voices. >.>

This is going to be unpopular, but I’m just not feeling the Highmountain Tauren, like, in most ways. That’s entirely because I’ve never been a huge fan of Tauren, though, and not something specifically tied to the Highmountain. I would have rather seen Ethereal added to the Horde, personally.

Thankfully, like I said above, nothing’s off limits for the future!

ENO LETS ME DISCUSS SOMETHING THAT ISN’T BLIZZARD:

I guess I may as well try to yet a PS4 in 2018 for Mega Man 11 and maybe Horizon Zero Dawn. Are there any other really good PS4 games that’s come out?

Some of these will depend on your taste, but…

  • Resident Evil 7
  • Nier Automata
  • The Last of Us (which has a sequel on the way)
  • The Kingdom Hearts remasters (and the third game, which is totally on the way).
  • The Uncharted uhh… the new one with the badass ladies.
  • The Evil Within 2

SPENCE MENTIONS ME AND GETS A COOKIE:

Q4tQ, specifically since Mitch returns tomorrow: I’ve finally gotten around to leveling my shadow priest, and she seems really weak in comparison to everything else I’ve leveled. At this point I’ve taken a Frost Mage, Prot. Pally, Frost DK, Assassin Rogue, Enhancement Shaman, Havoc DH, and Fury Warrior to max. level, and every single one of them seems to just cut through everything fast as hell compared to the priest. Also, I’m simultaneously leveling a Balance Druid (Astral form, so not a boomkin, screw that stupid chicken form), and she also seems to just explode things in comparison. At this point the only other toon that was comparatively painful at times was the Fury Warrior, and that was only because her self-healing while leveling was terrible. I can see how my priest would probably be balanced just fine in real fights, such as raids, where there’s plenty of ramp up time and ability to use Insanity properly, but when just out in the world, she seems very under-powered. Is this just something I have to deal with because of the way Insanity works for non-boss mobs, or am I doing something wrong?

The most difficult point in leveling my Shadow Priest in Legion actually was immediately after hitting 110. But that shouldn’t be as bad with how easily you can get your item level caught up now.

As far as leveling goes, I suggest Misery for quick DOTing, Legacy of the Void for high uptime on Voidform, and Mind Bomb because it’s stunning (lol). Playstyle-wise, try gradually increasing how many mobs you pull at once. Use Misery to DOT them up one by one, then pop Voidform as soon as you can. Mind Bomb when they’re close, Shadowfiend + Fade if you need to run away so they attack the Shadowfiend instead of you.

Honestly, using Voidform often is the hardest thing to get used to. It can feel like you’re wasting it, but some Voidform is better than no Voidform, especially with the recent buff to Void Eruption’s damage.

CAPTAIN CAKEWALK THE SNEAK-WUB REMINDS ME OF MY LONG-WANTED GOAL:

Q4tQ: I was chopping wood and collecting herbs earlier and it got me thinking: What, if any, profession would you add to WoW if you could? It can be literally anything that may, or may not, aid the current professions as well. I got the thought from bows and other wooden weapons in ESO and it made me think that we normally buy this from a vendor but to me, going out and having the option to hunt for it (so to speak) would be awesome!

I really, really want a profession that can dye clothing. Granted, this could be an addition to Inscription, but still. I think being able to change the color of armor — or some other cosmetic item — would be rad af.

SPENCER MORGAN JUST GETS A SHOUT-OUT:

Liztopia already fell to the Mitch Empire, you are rabble fighting a war you already lost Valence.

You’re spreading the right word, SPencer. Keep up the good work.

MISTAH JAY THROWS ME A SOFT BALL:

[Number]BE: Reaper and Sylvanas vs Hanzo and Alleria

Alleria is bae <3

Okay but really, you all seemed to think I would default to choosing Sylvanas, but that’s not necessarily true. See, in this situation, there’s a surprising turn of events that would actually result in Sylvanas losi–
